We just returned from a 3 day stay at the Imperial Guard hotel and had a wonderful time! The hotel is beautiful and very cozy—it really is a one-of-kind place you cant find anywhere else in the world! The building itself is stunning and the interior design is so warm, and transports you to a different place and time. The staff also can’t be beat! They truly went above and beyond to make us feel at home. They were already reaching out to us before we arrived to let us know more about the village and things to do in the area and answer any and all questions we had. Our translation apps were very helpful and made it easy to communicate. They made some great suggestions on what to visit, and helped us coordinate transportation. We truly enjoyed it all! Our dinners at the hotel were delicious, as was the morning breakfast and coffee! The bed was very comfortable and the toiletries and amenities are all very nice. We watched a movie on the large projection screen one night, and spent another enjoying the stars in the sky! Pingshan village is also very beautiful and one of the most memorable places I have ever traveled to in China. It’s quaint, lovely and authentic. When we visited there were no other tourists around, so we enjoyed quiet strolls through the village, the sight of young aspiring artists sprinkled around the town and of course the gorgeous architecture. We were also just a short 15-20min drive from hongcun, tachuan, bishan, mukeng, and xidi villages—each of which have their own charm and personality. We cannot wait to return to the Imperial Guard again, reunite with the friendly staff, and continue to explore the region! :)

We are a couple from Germany and Croatia and we had an amazing stay Yuyian No.8. The best hotel and service we had on our 3 weeks travelling China. The staff speaks only a little bit English but was able to communicate with us via WeChat and provided excellence service 24/7. One day they packed us a breakfast package, because we wanted to leave early in the morning. They provided a tea tasting and arranged a taxi driver for us. The breakfast buffet is excellent and the rooms are super clean. We stayed for 2 nights and didn't want to leave. Everything looks beautiful like in the pictures.

The room is very large and has a fragrant smell. It is all smart devices. There is also a balcony. The boss is very good. My balcony door is not closed, resulting in a lot of insects flying in. The boss helped me clean and change the quilt sheets. His dishes are worth recommending. It’s the first time to eat stinky salmon. The boss’s house is delicious. It’s not as unpalatable as described in Xiaohongshu. I’m surprised. The green eggplant is also very tender. The food is very full and the breakfast is very rich. I have always cared about whether our itinerary is convenient. You can contact them if you have any questions about travel. Very nice, A small idea, can the restaurant be non-smoking or separate smoking areas

The stay at Hongcun Zuoxian Art Hotel was remarkable. Received a call from the host (小李管家) while on the way to confirm my arrival time and needs. She even helped me arrange a driver to pick us up from the Huangshan North train station at a reasonable cost. Driver (李师傅) was friendly and gave us lots of tips while visiting Huangshan and we ended up using his services throughout the 3 days we were there. When we arrived, 小李管家 was right at the hotel entrance waiting for my for us and checkin into our rooms was a breeze. Rooms were clean with all the amenities you will need for a comfortable stay. Most impressive was the hotel layout and design which was very artsy and minimalist for a place like Hongcun. It was simply amazing! Me and my family especially loved the lobby and the coziness especially in front of the fireplace during winter. Hotel Location was within walking distance (200m) to Hongcun Ancient village and around 40mins drive to Huangshan mountain and around 1.5hrs drive to the Huangshan North Station or Tunxi Ancient Street. Will definitely recommend this hotel to all our friends and relatives if they are planning to visit Huangshan one day!!!

Traveling on May Day, it is rare to find such a quiet place in the crowded holiday, which is very pleasant. At first glance, the entrance of the homestay is not big, but it is a different world after entering. I strongly recommend the stilt house type, the scenery is amazing, you can see the Lotus Peak, Tiandu Peak and Guangmingding from the window, in the early morning and after the rain, the mountains are shrouded in clouds and mist, the scenery is beautiful ~ The room is also very clean. There are also family rooms where you can cook by yourself. Behind the house is the boss's tea garden. The children and the elderly happily experienced tea picking. The boss will help send the picked tea to the tea frying place in the town for processing, and only charge a little processing fee. The swimming pool in front of the door is drawn from mountain spring water. I am looking forward to taking my children to vacation again in the summer. The children can let themselves go in the swimming pool and cool off in the summer. There are also places to fish nearby. Unfortunately, I didn’t bring a fishing rod. The hotel is very close to the Emerald Valley and Jiulong Waterfall. The boss will drive you when you go out. If you don’t drive yourself, the boss will contact the time before you arrive and pick you up in the town. The boss’s family is very enthusiastic. I must praise the boss’s wife’s cooking skills. The stinky mandarin fish is the best I have ever eaten. The children almost fell in love with this dish. The breakfast variety is also very rich. I had a birthday in the hotel. The boss specially cooked birthday noodles + poached eggs for me, which is very considerate. People who love wine must try the multi-grain wine brewed in the boss’s wine cellar. When we left, we brought 10 kilograms of 15-year-old wine. We are still looking forward to the boss opening the jar of 20-year-old wine in October. The hotel has a mahjong room and a leisure tea room upstairs where you can drink tea, write calligraphy, and KTV. It is very suitable for a group of friends, family, and both the elderly and children to play. When we checked in this time, the room was full, and there were many foreign tourists staying. Will definitely come again! Suitable for people who like a quiet vacation

Hotel is conveniently located along Tunxi Old St near the main entrance. Staff is very friendly. There are two free to use washer dryers on the 4th floor that were convenient for cleaning my overdue laundry. My room is a bit smaller than expected but comfortable. It was on the 2nd floor facing the rear so noise was minimal despite being nearly at street level. Overall a good experience. Can recommend. Only flaw was that there were no lifts so I had to lug my stuff upstairs and back.

First of all, the first thing that people give to customers is that the environment and sanitation are pretty good. There is no odor in the room. The ventilation and lighting are pretty good. The room is very warm. The bathroom is also clean. The quilt has a faint smell of sunshine. It is very good. But I have a small suggestion. It is recommended to replace the trash can in the bathroom with a lid. It would be better.

My husband and I stayed at the Huizhou Homestay hotel for 4 nights. From checkin to checkout, the hotel owners and workers made our trip exceptionally smooth and easy. When we first checked in, it was getting late and we were very tired. As a foreigner in China I am accustomed to very long arduous checkins but our checkin here took only a minute and then we were off to our room to rest. Our room was lovely and clean, very comfortable. Additionally the lobby is so beautiful. If you visit the tea room to the right of the entrance you’ll see beautiful woven bags that upon request the owner will teach you how to make one yourself. Unfortunately I didn’t see this until our last day and we didn’t have a lot of time so I couldn’t take advantage of this. However we plan to return to stay again at which time I will definitely try this. The owners also helped us connect with drivers they partner with to take us to our destinations each day at a reasonable price. The drivers are all super nice, respectful, knowledgeable, and on time and we booked them 3 days we were there to take us to local villages including Chengkan, Hongcun, Xidi, Bishan, and more. We enjoyed Xidi most. We ate all of our breakfasts and dinners at the hotel. I was most impressed with their restaurant because it is sometimes difficult for me to find something on the menu for me. However they were very accommodating and allow for any food requests, as long as it is in advance. At breakfast you can request noodles that are very delicious in addition to their standard breakfast fare. The only thing I’d recommend to change is that there be coffee available. However this wasn’t too much of a problem as there was a KFC nearby I could order coffee from. The owners are super kind and always around to offer help if or when needed. I would highly recommend staying here, and we definitely plan on coming back to enjoy this beautiful hotel and the mountains again.

The owner of the B&B is very nice. He can pick you up when you go to Hongcun. The restaurant of the B&B is delicious. I really like the stinky mandarin fish and the braised spareribs (stinky mandarin fish lovers will be delighted). There are also many people who come to eat there. The only thing is that the room is a little damp during the rainy season. The air conditioning and floor heating are very powerful. The supporting toiletries are very complete. After checking out, there are also gifts. You can see that they are run with care. Overall, it is good and I will recommend it to my friends.
