Lliu0305051014Misled by Trip.com. Paid about 1200 CNY for two days and ended up in a rural guesthouse in the mountains, which was misleadingly listed as a hotel. Dianping (a local review app) was more honest, showing it as a guesthouse. I should have stayed in Yangshuo West Street instead; there were plenty of options for that price. The photos were drastically different from the actual experience. It was more like a two-star place in the city, perhaps? The exterior was even less appealing than other guesthouses, but the lobby was spacious and simple. The rooms were small. It had six floors, with about 5 rooms per floor. The room was small and had a rustic, 'village' feel. My child didn't even want to stay after opening the door and asked why I booked this place. It was totally photo-shopped. Plus, transportation in Yangshuo is inconvenient, and taxis overcharge. We had to tough it out for two days.
I saw the photos on Trip.com and thought it would be a minimalist and chic hotel like All Seasons, but it was just a peasant's house. The bathroom had random trash cans. You could hear people talking outside the door. This place feels more like accommodation attached to a restaurant. Trip.com actually listed it as a hotel. I shouldn't just rely on reviews in the future.
When we were taking a taxi out from here, the driver mentioned he was worried about oncoming traffic. That's when I realized the road in this deep mountain valley was only suitable for single-lane traffic. We even had to pull over twice for others.
On October 4th, it was raining, and we couldn't get a taxi no matter what. We walked to the entrance of 'Romantic Show' and finally got a taxi for 78 CNY, which took an hour to get to Ruyi Peak. From Ruyi Peak to Silver Cave, we entered at 5 PM and by 7 PM, it was dark. The sky had cleared up, but there was no way to get a taxi back to Yangshuo. We were quoted 120 CNY for a 40-minute drive to the theater. It was a very poor experience.
The most satisfying part of the 1200 CNY room rate was the bowl of Guilin rice noodles served for breakfast. Also, the beer fish set meal we bought separately at the hotel was generous in portion and clearly offered better value than the accommodation itself. After booking, it's essential to check both Trip.com and Dianping. Both the accommodation and transportation were extremely disappointing. You need to think carefully before staying in the mountains. For the same price, it's better to find a proper hotel. Always, always look at the exterior photos of the hotel, the outdoor shots. Seeing the outdoor exterior photos can largely help in making a judgment.

KKumaranLOCATION: Trip.com showed this stay as very close to the cable-car (Jinkeng terrace). That was the main reason for us to choose this place. But, on arrival, we found that this accommodation is about ~19 km far from the cable car station. So, it was an accidental choice for us. Nevertheless, this gave us an opportunity to enjoy this stay – free from hustle-bustle, no regrets. We realized the serenity of this place after visiting Dazhai! 😊
TRAVEL: Foreigners with family and kids. We traveled to the Longji Terraces from Yangshuo by 13:30 bus. It took us about 4 hours. Although we booked the ticket to Dazhai (last stop), we got off the bus at the Jinzhu intersection. The driver knows the hotel and its staff. I did reach out to Ms. Liao Yanzhen (aka Jane) through WeChat (same number as in Trip.com) before starting the journey. She informed the bus driver about us & it helped us a lot.
ACCOMMODATION: It is located uphill from the Jinzhu intersection – about 15-minute walk. Since we had luggage, Ms. Jane arranged for a car to carry all our luggage to/from the stay.
ROOM: Spacious, clean, and well-maintained. Depending on the room type, a balcony view helps. I had the valley view, which was very nice early in the morning. The room is built on a treehouse concept with modern bath and restroom facilities. It had a kettle, WiFi, etc., all that comes with a standard reservation.
FOOD: Received the menu available and the price per item through WeChat. The common dining area is spacious. Food portions were large and tasty! For the hotel location, the cost is reasonable.
STAFF: All are very friendly and do their best to make your stay comfortable. We managed all our interactions through the translator app. They surprised the kids with popcorn! During our stay, we played cards after dinner for a few hours in the common area, and the staff were kind enough to help us with table and chairs. Also, on the last day, they showed us their traditional way of preparing food and the ingredients.
ONLY SUGGESTION to the hotel: please address the door noise. It is too loud and annoying for occupants as well as neighbors.

GGuest UserA truly healing hotel. The environment is absolutely stunning; open the window and you're greeted by picturesque mountains, rivers, and fields. The service is gentle and warm, making you feel very comfortable. I tried the head spa and Zen meditation, and the techniques were professional; I felt completely relaxed afterward. The breakfast is light and healthy, fitting the overall peaceful vibe. The only minor downside is its location within the scenic area, meaning you have to return a bit earlier in the evening, but this also contributes to the tranquility. Overall, I'm very satisfied and it's perfect for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway.

The location is perfect, right within the West Street area, and it's just a 3-minute walk to the Li River, making getting around super convenient. Breakfast is provided and the quality of the food is excellent. They also offer electric scooter rentals, which is great for exploring the surroundings. The room was clean and tidy, and the hygiene was spot on. It offers fantastic value for money, the price is affordable, and overall, I had a very satisfying experience.

GGuest UserMust praise this store! The boss is a young boss. The store has a good good and cute kitten, and it is very cool to play the cat when resting. The whole house is well done, and all corners are cleaned up. It's much better than I thought, much better.
On the first night I arrived, I lay in bed and wanted to watch dramas. I found that there was no video member. The boss immediately opened SVIP. The service is super good.
The warmest thing is that I blow the air conditioner and catch a cold. I have to catch the high-speed rail downstairs the next day. I asked if there were paper towels. I smoked a few tables. I was going out to find a convenience store. The boss saw that I kept wiping my nose and took the initiative to take a pack of paper towels to me. The details are full, the service is not perfunctory, it is really comfortable to travel here, highly recommended!

YYanyongqianI arrived in Guilin from Kunming late after 12 am and there is no tourist information counter staff at the airport to tell me where to wait for the hotel's airport transfer driver. Fortunately an airline check-in counter officer helped me call the hotel to find out where to wait for the driver. Please note wait for the driver next to the police kiosk after leaving Gate 6 of the domestic arrival terminal and crossing the lane. It took me 15 minutes to identify the driver because the driver did not show the placard showing the hotel name Shanshuiyunshang Hotel. The driver was impatiently waiting for a foreign tourist. So I identified myself as a Singaporean looking for the transfer driver of the hotel. He replied that I can follow him, who did not declare the hotel's name. Thank God he brought a group of tourists and me to Shanshuiyunshang Hotel to check-in. I also thank God that the driver escorts me to the Airport Flower Field, which is 569 metres away from the hotel, for plane-spotting, and I walk back to the hotel within 10 minutes to check-out of the hotel for my outgoing trip from Guilin after completing my plane-spotting mission. Other than the hotel airport transfer driver, there is the odour of smoke in the room but I have to bear with it until I leave and I cannot access the hotel wifi by scanning the QR code. The hotel restaurant is very small but dragonfruit is served and the breakfast amount is sufficient to fill my hunger. Shanshuiyunshang Hotel is one of several hotels along the road of Liangjiang Town that has accommodation for tourists but this hotel is the only one in Liangjiang Town to be listed on Trip.com. I will stay here again for the purpose of plane-spotting in Liangjiang Town, the famous airport town of Guangxi.

DDatoucaiooThis is my second time visiting Yangshuo, and I've returned to Julong Town. Every stay here is incredibly comforting. The rooms are clean, and the thoughtful touches like late-night snacks, breakfast, and afternoon tea are wonderful! Our room had panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, offering stunning mountain views right from the bed. It was clean and spacious. We stayed in a family suite, which even had a washing machine – super convenient when traveling with kids! The bathroom also had a separate wet and dry area. You absolutely must check out the 'Sky Mirror' on the rooftop; the distant mountains and clouds reflecting on its surface make for amazing photos, and there's even a complimentary travel photoshoot with your stay. The hotel also has an infinity pool, and swimming with those mountain views is truly therapeutic.

GGuest UserThis place has hands down been the most memorable stay we have ever had! As a couple traveling for the first time in China, Yukong, his family, and friends gave us a feeling of home and took care of us in a way we never experienced from a homestay.
The house itself is build by Yukong's grandparents 70 years ago, and is placed in the middle of a Kiwi farm on the mountains outside Leye city. We shared great meals together every night in front of the fireplace with the boiling soup bowl at the center. Friends and family of the house even cared for bringing all sorts of classical Chinese instruments to the house to play traditional folk music for us - something we will never forget! Together we sang karaoke, drank rice wine, laughed and had great talks, despite of the language barrier. One could tell that our well being mattered to all of them, and that they wanted us to experience and understand their culture.
Yukong and his brother even joined us for a hike in the nearby geopark and helped us with litterarly everything regarding planning and activities (which was so helpful, as none of us speaks Chinese). They took so much time off their hands to help us getting around and showed us the most wonderful local tourist attractions and great places to eat. The area has a lot to offer, and we were amazed that we seemed to have it all to ourselves.
If you are in Guangxi, or anywhere else in China, for that matter, do yourself a favor and book a stay here. It is something you will remember for a long time. The nature, the culture, and especially the family you are gonna stay with, are wonderful.

GGuest UserAll in all an extremely pleasant stay! The location is absolutely stunning. Sure, it might be a little bit off the beaten track, but the views are all the more rewarding and the hiking path from Dazhai is also highly recommended.
The hotel lobby also functions as a big living room and a little restaurant run by the owners. The food is excellent and well priced (definitely try their rice wine!). Because we were there in winter and it was cold, the owners even put a small radiator under our table to make it comfortable.
Generally, the owners were super nice and friendly and adding their absolutely adorable puppy, we almost couldn't bring ourselves to leave.
The rooms were very clean, have a small separate bathroom and we had a small balcony with view over the rice terraces. For a more budget option there is also rooms without AC or view, in that case you can still enjoy quite a bit of the scenery from the living room downstairs or just by exploring the surroundings on foot. (The picture is shot from our balcony, but sadly some of the view was obscured by the winter mist.)
We will definitely try to come again sometime in summer and are already excited thinking about staying in this hotel again.

Kkyowa_shThe room is quite spacious with complete facilities, and the panoramic window offers a great view. The only downside was that it was fully booked during the Mid-Autumn Festival, so we only got a second-floor room. There's a small golf course less than 5 meters away on the opposite rooftop, which somewhat compromised privacy. I imagine this wouldn't be an issue on the third floor and above. The service was very attentive, and the buffet food was quite good for a B&B, around a 4-star standard. We even received a small gift when we checked out. Its location near the old street pier makes it convenient for Yulong River rafting.
