Spacious, functional and well organised. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. All speak very good English. Despite the closeness to the Bologna railway station the place is set back, quiet and green, with a large outdoor area for relaxation. The rooms are functional, clean, well ventilated and fitted with A.C. Totally recommended!

Hotel is in a quiet area a little off from the highway. We had a corner suite room which was a huge room with separate living area and bedroom and it had a treadmill in the living. The only complaint is the shower water had a very strong metallic smell, not sure if it’s the plumbing or what but it was quite unpleasant. TV channels has cable TV channels so that’s nice too.

Can’t speak highly enough of the way this hotel treated me after my fall which required hospitalisation. Had to phone reception from car park as I couldn’t get out of my car .Valeria and Guiseppe came out and once it was clear I needed ambulance they called ambulance and arranged for my cases to be transferred to hospital.

Parma is actually a lot of Chinese, but it is estimated that many are businessmen, and there are very few tourists, so the traffic is not developed. On the contrary, the hotel is conveniently located on the right hand side of the train station, paying attention to the store and blocking the tree. The girl at the front desk is a bit like the Eurasian girl. She is not only eager to stay in time, but also asks if I want to eat breakfast, very generous, and the cook who is early is also more polite. The room is spacious, just the elevator needs to be familiar.

We have booked this place through their website and we were satisfied from the general information that we got online. To be honest it was in a very good locations. Arriving at the property we noticed that there were construction works ongoing !!! Early in the morning the noise was very loud and it was impossible to sleep. Imagine a family with 2 young children that has to wake up from that noise. The second and the biggest delusion was the apartment itself. I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN A PLACE SO DIRTY! The floor was so dirty like it has months without washing. Tested with a paper tissue… it become brown dark, disgusting. The beds were arranged with some old sheets and a couple of duvet (smelly) that was hard to sleep. Very old towels, from white they were close to grey, and with an unpleasant smell. The apartment itself was very old in furniture and equipment. Not mentioning that there was zero acoustic isolation. You can feel the next door apartment chats like they were in your room, and the road noise was crazy if your apartment with face the road. Very poor experience

I had read disagreements about this hotel, but my experience was absolutely positive, starting with staff, with a wonderful gentleness and availability, all with a smile and ready to make the guest feel comfortable. They booked my taxi and kept my baggage after check-out. The simple, clean rooms with everything necessary for a pleasant stay. Finally, breakfast is sweet and salty: coffee and cappuccino (served directly by the staff), fruit juices for all tastes, yoghurt, cooked fats, marmelade, nutella, cakes, crustaceans, cornets of various kinds. As for salt, soda eggs, appetites, cheese ...many variety and abundance. It is really a great experience in this hotel, if I should go back to Bologna I will book from them again! 10 and praise.

Hotel close to the historic center, very warm welcome from the staff who provide good advice. the rooms are spacious, very comfortable bedding. The only criticism for this high standard hotel is the fruit juices served at breakfast, which are only chemical, which is a shame.

My room was spotlessly clean, good air conditioning and a comfortable bed. Breakfast had a lovely range of pasties, salami, cheese, rolls, cereals, fruit juice and amazing coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful despite my language barrier. Room had a fridge in which was particularly helpful as the temperatures outside when I was there was 35 degrees. It was lovely to come back to a cool room after a long walk. I would highly recommend the restaurant across the road for the tastiest meal and friendly service - La Nuova Fraschetta

The hotel is located on the main road of Bologna, across the road from the Cathedral. On the day of the check-in, a grand religious celebration is held, as it is close to the road and you can walk through the road to feel. The room is large, especially the bathroom, and it is no exaggeration to say that you can dance inside. There is an emergency alarm rope near the toilet and the shower. I have pulled two times in the unknown. I have to call the security immediately and need no assistance. It is quite professional and safe. The bathroom accessories are famous Italian brands, the quality is very good, they are brought back to China after they have not been used up, especially like it. The breakfast room was slightly crowded and the dishes were average, but there were even porridge dishes. Later, I learned that there were Japanese monks and local religious groups to hold a friendly relationship and cooperation ceremony during the stay. It was very interesting to walk from the hotel. The restaurant waiter also asked us about Chinese tastes and Chinese cuisine. Although the English communication between the two sides could not convey the essence of Chinese food, they communicated clearly with the help of the body language and imagination. The breakfast was really good. A cultural exchange platform, the restaurant waiter is also very friendly. No air conditioning - rude staff I specifically booked this hotel because it states there IS air conditioning, but when I arrived it was switched off. It was VERY hot in the room exposed all day long to sunlight. The very rude staff said that, even if they get your money for a room WITH air conditioning, they let it switched off and that's all. I insisted and they told me it was raining up to few days ago; I told them TODAY there is a very hot sun and it is impossible to sleep in such a hot room. No way - they get your full money in advance and then do not deliver what they sold you. I had to buy a fan and slept only 4 hours. Terrible experience. When I came back at midnight because I tried to let some air in (since they even left the windows closed after cleaning, terrible smell and terrible temperature!) at the reception I found arabian guys listening to loud arabian music; they had difficulties understanding the number of the room, since they spoke french. Old building, worn-out facilities, extremely hot water in the shower that was impossible to adjust. Do not go there.

I had a reservation made directly in this hotel. It was recommended by some friends. About 2 weeks before my planned stay, I was reached by Paolo from CDH Hotel Bologna front office, with the information that the central office management had decided to close the hotel for a few days, and that included the day of my reservation. Within 24hrs Paolo called me back after having found for me a better accommodation in a close by hotel at the exact same rate. This is what I call customer service! Thank you. I will for sure come back again to try your rooms!

We stayed here at the hight of Covid, and had the worse dinner and breakfast of any hotel we had ever stayed at, ie a microwaved pizza and breakfast pastry’s/bread 4 or 5 days old. I am so glad to say things have changed. We had a hot and tasty meal. Not gourmet, ( I don’t think residents of Parma would use it) but fuel for our journey. Not expensive. Breakfast was very good. The breakfast staff spoke good English which is not typical, and one of them even asked us if we had every we needed, and could she get us anything. Everything was nice and fresh and a good selection. You could have breakfast outside if you wished. As before the receptionist were very good, and the room also excellent, a very reasonable size. Suitable for more then a one day stay. Since our terrible experience we have been staying many times at the Hotel Real Fine Baia del Re in Modena, which has the most wonderful restaurant which the locals do use. But the hotel was fully booked. So, we have a choice in future.

I stay in many hotels as I run a cycle tour company. I have to say that this hotel and the attitude of the staff are probably among the worst I have experienced in many a year. Where do I start? We had booked an evening meal with a set menu and had asked that our gluten intolerant clients would have a suitable alternative. A Parma ham salad was proposed. When the alternative arrived it was a pack of Parma ham still wrapped in its plastic packaging (just as you buy it in the supermarket) dumped in front of each client on their plate. No salad, nothing else! The rest of the meal was also not as we had agreed and when we were complained we were told we would need to speak to the management. Next morning several of our clients reported that their air conditioning was not working. With temperatures tipping 35 degrees in the day clearly this did not make for a comfortable nights sleep. Again when we complained we were told the management responsible di not work at weekends and we would have to email our complaints to them. The breakfast room was huge and very full. There was one coffee machine with a huge queue and no staff to help with service. Again the quality of the food was average at best. We then emailed the hotel management with our complaints and asked for a rebate on the meal we had ordered as it had not complied with that which we had agreed. The reply was frankly insulting to our intelligence - saying that the reason for there was plastic wrapping on the ham was the fear of cross contamination. We stayed with these same gluten intolerant clients in many hotel on this trip and none of them were unable to provide a sensible and delicious alternative for them. They did not respond about the lack of air conditioning and said the breakfast room was busy because the hotel was busy!! Exactly! We had a number of email exchanges asking for some compensation which finally resulted in an offer of a 500€ voucher for use at this or one of the company's other hotels in the future. Given our very poor trea**ent and experience means we would be extremely reluctant to return to this or other hotels in the group we have declined this. This is a poor hotel with poor staff customer service values and poor management. Avoid like the plague!

Great location just off the A1. Staff were so friendly and made such an effort with us. The free bikes were a blessing to cycle into Parma in the rain, the receptionist advised to park at Piazza Garibaldi. The room was clean and spacious with all the facilities needed. The pool was clean with adequate chairs and an area for food:drinks. Too far too walk to the centre but easy enough to drive or cycle.

I can’t understand why there would be other negative reviews other than perhaps they are competitors. But my wife and I just had a two nights stay and it was absolutely wonderful. The room was spacious and comfortable and elegant, and the bathroom was very large and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The service was absolutely phenomenal as was the breakfast and drinks. We will definitely return and stay nowhere else. The next time we are in Parma.

Very close to the train station (though we had some difficulty finding the place, Google map navigation's fault). Piumaviola is on a very quiet side street. ”Gated compound” type of entrance for cars & people. We arrived earlier than check-in time, were able to drop off our luggage, paid the city taxes, and rushed to visit the cloister & the library of the San Giovanni Evangelista before 11:45am Friday closing time. Lovely decorated room (Toscanini room) and the shared kitchen/dining area: a lot of wooden furniture (tables, map storing drawer type of furniture pieces), a nice touch of fake orchids, etc. Retro and tasteful. Even the area by the elevator was lovely. Our Toscanini room was soundproof and had one big room and a small room. A big washroom that also had a heated towel rack. Used to be a typography company so our room and the shared kitchen/dining area have high ceilings. There is a cold water dispenser, a kettle, a fridge for guests to use as well as plates, mugs, glasses, utensils, a microwave, & toaster. Great to have a meal there after making purchases from the supermarket. An observation: It's great that Piumaviola has a washer/dryer (all-in-one type; 1 machine) for the guests to use. Please keep in mind that it is best for those who are staying 2 nights so you will have ample time to hang & dry your laundry completely. I appreciated that the same PIN code is used to access the compound gate, building gate, elevator, and your room. No keys to return as we had to leave early before the included breakfast. Since we couldn't have the included breakfast the next morning, the owner's daughter prepared a tray of sweet goodies for us & placed it in our room. She was also easily reachable via Whatsapp since we had to dash to visit the San Giovanni Evangelista before closing time. She patiently answered my questions about the water dispenser, kettle, all-in-one washer/dryer how-to. We had an one-night stay & wished that we had stayed longer Please don't hesistate to book your stay at this lovely Piumaviola Bed & Apartments in Parma. (I don't get commissions. I just provided my first-hand experience. That's all. LOL)
