I stayed just one night at the hotel. The reception staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the overall service was very good. I’d definitely stay here again next time I’m in Olhão. Special thanks to Pedro at the front desk for recommending some great local restaurants with traditional food!
At best its a 4star property. During our stay hotel wasnt at its best, so ill put 3.5 stars.
Hotel entrance looks like a train station waiting room.
For a moment we thought that we are underground as its dark everywhere inside the hotel. Toilets were smelly on the entrance ground, Windows were cleaned on Christmas last year i think. Dirty floors.
Rooms are dingy, but spacious.. Lots of cupboard space. you cant use the mirrors in bath area as its too dark. Water in Toilet bowl keeps on going unless you fiddle with the push buttons. TV Remote was filthy.
Towels are from the 10th century, use with care! Toiletries are basic brands, nothing oo la la!
Breakfast is good, not excellent. Theres a live station for omelettes and pancakes. Coffee from nescafe machines with pods, again not very 5 star standard.
Stay here if you have a good price deal but not high expectations.
DO NOT EXPECT 5 STAR SERVICE! You have been warned.
Big hotel with SPA services. I stayed during winter time and only SPA facilities indoor were available, but in summer they also have an outdoor pool and I think also a partnership with a private beach. The room was nice and clean. The complex is big and there are different building all connected. The breakfast is huge and there a lot of local specialties and more international food. The hotel is right in the middle of Lagos and from there you can easily walk around. They also have a free outdoor parking or a paying indoor parking. The staff was courteous and gentle.
Hotel has great facilities and was very clean, though we were disappointed to realise that due to unsafe cliffs, it no longer offered direct access to the beach. Service should really be improved for such an expensive hotel:
1. Reception gave us 2 twin beds even though we specifically made a request at booking for double bed
2. Restaurants got my coffee orders wrong on multiple occasions throughout the stay
3. During the saturday bbq night, the hostess Priscilla made up a poor excuse not to give us a poolside table even though we were one of the earliest guests there. Her excuse was the remaining poolside tables were reserved for 4 families with dogs. We didn't see a single dog during the entire course of 2 hours, and the tables were given away to other couples for reasons unknown. This incident really upset us, and the fact that she had the audacity to make up such an excuse is appalling.
4. Gratuity was charged at 7.5% for every item, which is fine but what left a bad taste in the mouth is the hotel did it without informing customers upfront.
Excellent location, about 20 minutes from the beach, very peaceful with a 5* pool.
Apartments with two air conditioning units in each bedroom, refrigerator, dishwasher, and washing machine. And even with a view of the go-kart track.
Excellent choice 👌
This was a wonderful honeymoon holiday in the Algarve. Thanks to the wonderful hospitality of the W Algarve staff. They were all so friendly and sharing recommendations on where to visit across the Algarve. The breakfast was delicious too. The hotel gave us a few surprises upon arrival (decorating bed with rose petals, congratulatory messages / writings on the walls and a portugese red wine front Duoro valley. What a great way to start the holiday. Furthermore, the W Algarve were extremely helpful on making lunch/dinner bookings in restaurants across Algarve. It felt like a private Concierge and we were very grateful for it. Hip and Portuguese design. Certainly would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Algarve. MUST have a rental car, there isn't much around within walking distance.
Overall I would recommend this hotel! The location is perfect - it's not in town centre, but a 12 mins easy walk away - however it means you're just another 10-15 mins walk away in each direction to multiple beaches. It's closest to Praia Caldeira and Des Estudiantes (my absolute favourite!) and likewise, you can walk the other direction to Praia Dona Ana and Camilo, and the famous Ponta Da Piedade within 25 mins - no uphill! It's super close to two supermarkets (Spar and an Asian Mart) and enough restaurants nearby, or just next door to a fabulous chinese restaurant (yes, of all places!).
A few imperfections with the smell, possibly not the hotel's fault and average pillows, but we'll live for c. EUR130/night. Do try to secure a room on level 2 and above. I initially got a room with twin beds on level 0 and it was noisier and smellier.
The hotel location is amazing …the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful…. and facilities were beautiful. The servers in the restaurant were especially good …and one woman (sorry can’t recall her name) made our meals particular memorable given her friendliness (and she spoke great English …which helped us). We were very happy to have chosen your hotel… and find it (oddly we never saw a sign but assume that was us… not you!).
Thank you for asking for feedback…we will definitely let our friends and professional colleagues know about the extraordinary experience!

Beautiful marina views and perfect location!
We loved our stay at NH Marina Portimão – the location right on the marina is unbeatable. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a lovely balcony overlooking the water. The pool area was great for relaxing, and it’s just a short walk to the beach and restaurants. Ideal spot for exploring Portimão and Ferragudo. Would definitely stay here again!

GGuest UserThe apartment is spacious but very dated. It also smelled strongly of smoke. The hallway also smelled of smoke. After the neighbors opened the door, the smell became even stronger. We suspect smoking in the apartments. The breakfast is really minimal. Only cold food and coffee from a machine. However, the staff is very friendly, and the location is convenient. You can walk to the boulevard and the city center within 5 minutes.
SStolbrinkI had booked an apartment and was upgraded to a cottage.
The buildings and equipment are ”typical of the country”.
The kitchen provided the essentials, but almost everywhere there were no sharp knives or rags.
Inside the building is cool, which corresponds to the outside temperature: the heating/air conditioning unit warms the air. The walls and floors were cold these two days.
In midsummer, that's certainly pleasant, but not in early March.
The location of the resort is great!
The service and friendliness of the staff!
will i come back
Always happy in warm seasons.
GGuest UserTonel Apartamentos was clean, close to all emenities, with parking right outside your door. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this property while exploring the area.
GGuest UserGood location, very calm and relaxing place, with small houses scattered throughout the pine forest. Very good for those traveling with animals. The pool is a little far away for those staying in the furthest houses. Cleaning is very basic and the staff were not very friendly.
