The hotel was excellent, very nice, clean and beautifully furnished. As for the services, there are literally uneducated people in the tourism industry working at the reception, such workers should not have contact with the client at all or should undergo training. On the contrary, the staff in the restaurant was very nice. Everything was great except for the staff at the reception.
Out of the five hotels I stayed at in Egypt, this one wasn't cheap, but the experience was just okay. The photos made it look great, but the hotel itself isn't that big. It's located on a hill next to the Old Cataract, so walking back means a steep climb. I even had an unreliable driver try to charge extra just because of the hill – unbelievable! 😓 The front desk staff's attitude was so-so, and they gave me a ground-floor room. I seriously suspect the housekeeping staff tampered with my foundation bottle. The cap was open, and a few drops had spilled out. The more I thought about it later, the more I realized it definitely wasn't my doing. If you're staying here, I'd recommend keeping your personal items locked in your luggage! The buffet restaurant's food was mediocre, but the coffee was decent.
The hotel couldn't have been better. It's situated right on the Nile River in Egypt, and I highly recommend trying the Egyptian cuisine at the hotel restaurant. For around 50,000 KRW, a couple can enjoy a very satisfying meal. The accommodation itself has a cozy, almost guesthouse-like atmosphere.
On our first night, the room was not clean. After our first complaint, housekeeping did a simple cleanup but it was still unsatisfactory. With our second complaint, a deeper cleaning was arranged, and the room was finally clean — though it was already past midnight (around 1am). The hotel staff apologized and kindly compensated us with a dinner discount, which we appreciated. Overall, we are happy with the team’s fast response and service recovery.
One small feedback: the facilities’ opening hours (spa and gym) clash with typical sightseeing schedules. Since they open late and close early, we were unable to enjoy them. It would be great if the hotel could consider extending the operating hours.
Credit to the room towel decoration. Surprises everyday we came back from sightseeing. Talented creativity of towel art.
Very good hotel with excellent value for money facilities.
Big and clean rooms, nice staff and excellent manager Mr. Islam will do everything to make your trip comfortable and memorable.
Highly recommended.
The hotel is located on an island opposite the Old Cataract Hotel, requiring a boat ride to access. While a bit dated, it's still well-maintained. We booked a dinner-inclusive package, and even though we arrived close to 10 PM on the first night, the hotel restaurant waited for us to have dinner. The Nile views from the hotel, both at sunrise and sunset, are quite lovely. The buffet restaurant is decent.
This is a very contradictory B&B hotel that I don't know if it is worth recommending. Its shortcomings and advantages are very prominent. It is suitable for Internet celebrities to make photos (the following photos are all original photos without retouching), but it is not suitable for anyone who has certain requirements for ”accommodation” itself. If you can find any cheap + clean + similar scenery alternative hotel, it is recommended to change it, but if it is just for taking pictures and scenery, it may be ranked at the top in Nubian Village.
First of all, you have to be able to tolerate:
1. The hotel price is not cost-effective in the peak season, and the B&B offers the price of a five-star hotel.
2. Poor room facilities, rough-style furniture and narrow rooms, worrying bed sheets, bathroom shower water overflowing and drainage is useless, no slippers, toothbrushes, hair dryers (phone front desk can provide).
3. The breakfast is self-service and extremely simple and unpalatable, unlike some people who commented on the set and inexplicably praised it.
4. Tolerate or pay more to continue to tolerate the complaints of the chartered driver to drive into Nubian Village, and then contact the hotel by yourself in the middle of the night to change to a three-wheeled motorcycle in the deserted and dark mountains for 15 minutes to doubt life and reach the mountaintop hotel.
5. Other prices are very unreasonable. We originally wanted to book dinner for the New Year's Eve party, but it cost 100 US dollars per person...
What did we get here?
1. The balcony of the room can see the unbeatable sunrise on the west bank of the Nile. We witnessed the first light of 2025 here at 6 am.
2. The various poses in the cultural buildings of the Nubian Village are very photogenic.
3. The desert next to the hotel is very photogenic.
4. A very special cultural experience of a group of tourists jumping up and down the mountain in a row of three-wheeled vehicles.
5. The hotel service staff is relatively friendly. Finally, it is explained that Egypt is not a country where tipping is allowed. Carrying luggage is a basic service of any hotel in their country. No one asked for tips during the entire stay.
Although it's on an island, taking the hotel's shuttle boat to and from the island was much more convenient than I expected. Before checking in, I added the hotel on WhatsApp (which is also their phone number), and they sent me the pier location. Each time I needed to use the pier, I just needed to send a message and they would prepare the boat in advance.
This was the most expensive hotel on our trip to Egypt, and it was quite a hassle getting there. Our flight was delayed for a long time, and the only transportation from the airport was unofficial taxis. However, the hotel was worth it. We paid an extra $150 for our child, which included a lavish afternoon tea that practically served as dinner. We missed the group tour, but since we were only staying one day, they gave us a private tour of Churchill's and Agatha Christie's rooms. The old building offered a unique atmosphere and view. Housekeeping was 24/7, so you could request cleaning at any time. There's a Carrefour nearby with very affordable items. Breakfast was decent, though my child felt it wasn't varied enough, so they brought out freshly baked bread and other treats. The service truly was excellent, and we had a great experience. The new building's rooms were also very spacious, but it was just too hot. It might be better to visit in winter.
The main feature of this hotel is it's location on top of a hill overlooking the Nile. Also, you are able to use the facilities of its sister hotel, Basma Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, esp Meera who organised drivers and tour guide for us at short notice. The room was clean and spacious, and bathroom had all amenties, however the shower cubicle was on the small side and shower curtain just a couple cms too short so difficult to avoid getting the floor wet.

GGuest UserThe hotel is right by the Nile River. There is a large area full of his homes. It is a bit like a more distinctive homestay. It is in Nubian style, and there are many distinctive decorations in the room.
The hotel is located in the suburbs, and the surrounding area is deserted and remote, so it is also very quiet. The hotel we booked to pick us up from Cairo to Aswan was charged $55. It took about 40 minutes to drive. I felt cheated. In fact, you can call a taxi directly from the airport. It is not as chaotic as it is said on the Internet.
The breakfast in the hotel is not bad. The fried egg is very delicious. There is a waiter who is Nubian. He is very nice to me. He will take the initiative to help me carry things and remind me to pay attention to the steps. It is the most sincere and friendly service I feel in my trip to Egypt. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask his name. When I left, I wanted to find him to tip but couldn't find him.

AAnonymous UserWe were arranged to stay in a river view suite in a small house across the road from the hotel (in fact, there is no river view on the first floor). The room was relatively damp. We paid the price of a five-star hotel but lived in a county guesthouse with decoration standards. The overall feeling was that the premium was very high and there was no cost-effectiveness.
