We were warmly welcomed by a lady staff member with a sweet, cheerful smile, and were able to check in early before the official check-in time. Our room came with a balcony offering a full ocean view, which was beautiful. However, the room itself was quite old, with an outdated design. Only reusable slippers were provided instead of disposable ones. The bed was too bouncy, and we could feel the springs inside. The pillows were also too thin and uncomfortable.
Breakfast had a very limited selection, though the taste was acceptable. The hotel is nicely located right in front of the ocean, with a spacious open area across the road where locals set up camps and jog along the seaside. We also saw some locals playing basketball at the large court nearby.
A special mention to the staff who helped us order fried chicken delivery — he kindly recommended popular local choices, and we really appreciated his help.
If the hotel improves the room quality and comfort, it would be a perfect place to stay.

Room Type: The rooms are quite cramped, especially the twin rooms. After accounting for furniture, there's barely enough space to walk around, making it difficult to even open a suitcase. The bathroom facilities are also very old. Disposable amenities like toothbrushes are not provided at all.
Environment: The only distinguishing feature of this hotel is its proximity to Lotte Duty Free Shop; you can walk directly downstairs to access it. However, this also means the lobby on the first floor is constantly crowded with shoppers, making it very noisy. Getting around and daily life are relatively convenient, with plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores nearby. The only redeeming quality is the surprising swimming pool. Overall, the surroundings are better than the interior; it's a place only suitable for a quick stopover.

The room was great. On the first day, the mini-fridge wasn't working. I told the front desk, and by the time I came back, they had replaced it with a new, working one. The room was very warm; I didn't even need to turn on the heater. There's a McDonald's downstairs and an Olive Young (or something similar) cosmetics store not far away. The prices there were lower than those near the duty-free shop, I'm not sure why. You can use Gaode Maps to navigate to Udo Island, but don't trust its travel time estimates. It might say 1 hour, but it actually takes about 1.5 hours. I rode more bus stops than I ever have in my life – 82 stops! The sink in the bathroom drained slowly; I basically had to wash for a bit and then pause. The hotel's location is good for walking to Dongmun Market and Chilseong-ro. I found a 5-pack of banana milk for around 4980 won at a large supermarket near the hotel, while it was 1800 won per bottle at 7-Eleven.
Jeju Marriott Shinhwa World is a comprehensive, one-stop resort hotel, perfect for families and vacations, with extensive facilities. However, its location is relatively remote, with a drive of over an hour from the airport.
🏨 Overall Hotel Review:
1. **Rich Facilities, Family-Friendly**: The hotel boasts indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a water park (some areas are chargeable), and is adjacent to Shinhwa Theme Park. It also features a kids' club, bowling alley, and a wide array of entertainment options.
2. **Comfortable Stay**: The rooms are spacious with comfortable bedding. Some rooms include a bathtub and a separate shower. The overall cleanliness receives high praise.
3. **Diverse Dining Options**: The hotel offers several restaurants, including Sky on 5 Dining for international cuisine, Jeju Seon for Korean dishes, and a Chinese restaurant, catering to various tastes. However, dining prices are on the higher side.
4. **Service and Location**: The staff are friendly and helpful. However, the hotel is located in Andeok-myeon, a relatively remote area of Seogwipo City, quite a distance from Jeju city center and popular attractions. It's more suitable for those driving themselves or planning an in-depth stay within the resort area.
5. **Main Drawback**: The hotel's soundproofing isn't great. During my stay, I could constantly hear furniture being moved upstairs at night, which was very noisy.

We chose this hotel due to its location close to Seongsan Ilchulbong which turned out to be its only advantage. The outdoor swimming pool is useless since it’s right in front of a cafe and all the visitors observe the pool while having a meal, so there was no one swimming in the pool because it feels too awkward. There is no actual lobby where one can stay in case of arriving before check-in time, there’s only a small room with a reception desk which is usually no one at. So far I came to the lobby 4 times and there was no staff around. At 3 a.m. due to the rain, our room was powered off. We didn’t have any light or electricity even to charge our phones. In the morning I visited the lobby room several times, again there was no one to help. When I tried to contact the property, no one replied my calls. The service is terrible. To sum up, location and a hot tub are advantageous. Otherwise, I do not recommend this place.

Here's a breakdown of the hotel's pros and cons, especially helpful for travelers:
* **Chinese-speaking Front Desk:** A huge plus for guests unfamiliar with Korean, as it completely breaks down language barriers. Check-in, travel inquiries, and overall communication become much smoother.
* **Cleanliness is Key:** The hotel's main strength is its cleanliness, meeting the fundamental expectations of most travelers. If the room facilities are relatively new and odor-free, that's an added bonus.
* **Direct Airport Access:** A bus stop right downstairs offers direct service to the airport. This is a high-value option compared to taxis, perfect for travelers with light luggage and a limited budget.
* **Excellent Location:** Situated near Jeju Baojian Road (제주 보건로), a popular shopping and dining district in Jeju Island. It's incredibly convenient for evening strolls and meals.
* **Abundant Dining Options:** A KFC downstairs for quick meals, a Haidilao upstairs for those craving Chinese food, and likely many more local restaurants and convenience stores nearby.
* **Convenient Shopping:** Baojian Road is packed with cosmetic stores, clothing boutiques, souvenir shops, etc., making it ideal for an evening shopping spree.
* **Noise Concerns:** Being close to a bustling area and main road, lower-floor rooms might experience street noise. It's advisable to request a higher floor or a room facing away from the street.
**Ideal for travelers who:** are looking for good value, enjoy shopping, and rely on public transportation. For family trips or those with children, the Chinese-speaking service can also significantly reduce communication stress.
**Small Tip:** When checking in, you might want to confirm the room's noise level with the front desk and ask for a bus schedule to help with your planning.

Convenient location and close to all key tourist sites in town. Also near to convenience stores and eateries/ restaurants. Hotel has been around for a while but it was renovated recently and kept maintained well. Good value for money. Parking at hotel entrance is limited but plenty of free parking places nearby.
We asked for connecting rooms or rooms near to each other and they provided 2 rooms that were side by side - Perfect!

A trip to Jeju with a friend of 20 years in October, the perfect time for traveling! This was a trip for me and my friends, with no children to worry about, so I searched for a quiet, natural place to relax and unwind. Finally, I found Hygge Hotel! ♡
The view from the hotel, overlooking the stunning Jeju sea and the Brother Islands, was truly unforgettable. On a clear day, the feeling of watching the sunrise without even having to step outside was only possible thanks to Hygge Hotel's ocean view rooms. Hygge Hotel's meticulous attention to detail and the beds and bedding provided a sound sleep, even for someone with sensitive skin and frequent skin troubles. The party room on the basement level boasted a table for small talk and a Han River Ramen machine, allowing me to chat with friends and enjoy a quick snack.
Just a few meters from the hotel, the friendly owner recommended a cafe and restaurant beloved by locals.
Within a short drive, you can enjoy Jeju's nature without having to drive far, as Songaksan Mountain Trail, Sagye Beach, and Sanbangsan Mountain are all within easy reach. It was so great that I could fully immerse myself in it. I was curious about the other rooms, which had a different charm to their structure, so I promised a friend that I would return to this hotel next fall, which was so satisfying!

Getting here from the city center involves taking bus 510 and then about a ten-minute walk. However, there's a bus stop right outside the hotel, making it very convenient for exploring attractions near Seogwipo. They offer luggage storage, even utilizing a disused restaurant space specifically for this. The sea view rooms are well-located; I'd recommend requesting a higher floor for the best views, as my room was on the fifth. The room itself was just average; it felt quite cramped with two suitcases opened, and the plush carpet looked a bit tired. The bathroom had a shower, which I actually liked as it's quite uncommon in Jeju. There's an infinity pool on the 7th floor, though it does incur an extra charge. While the front desk staff's English was passable, most communication was still in Korean. Overall, it felt like a domestic budget hotel with a sea view, which is understandable given the price point.
This was my first time bringing my family to Jeju, and we chose Lotte Hotel for the last two nights. The room was neat and clean, and the hotel facilities were excellent. The outdoor water park was definitely the highlight. The restaurant's food was fresh and varied, highly recommended! The hotel's night view was also lovely. There were plenty of dining options right outside the hotel at night, including fried chicken, seafood, and BBQ. Overall, very satisfied! 👍

2205092****This hotel is super convenient, with a great location right across from the duty-free shop. Just one street over, there's a popular sandwich shop with delicious food, and two streets away, you'll find the保健路 (Baojianlu) food street and sports goods street, where the black pork BBQ is amazing. There's also an Asian pharmacy downstairs, making shopping easy. There are 2-3 Olive Young stores nearby, and a BHC fried chicken place about a 15-minute walk away. I'm very satisfied! The front desk staff all speak Chinese. You can take a free shuttle bus from the airport and store your luggage until the afternoon. There's a GS25 convenience store in the lobby, and another supermarket across the street with even more variety. Paying the deposit with 300,000 KRW in cash is more convenient than using a credit card, as it's returned upon check-out. I recommend booking a local day tour; a mini-bus will pick you up at the hotel. The itinerary to Udo Island was great. Room prices were a bit high in August, but usually, a round-trip flight and room would probably be a few hundred [currency]. Lastly, Jeju Island in August was incredibly hot, and the air conditioning in Korean cars idling was really not effective enough.

Great
AAnonymous UserThe hotel has a modern, trendy aesthetic, making it very photogenic. Our ocean-facing room was a bit small and dated; there wasn't enough space to fully open two suitcases simultaneously. The hotel pool is free before 11 AM; after that, reservations are required, with two time slots available. It's best to avoid weekends as it gets very crowded with local visitors. The front desk offers Chinese-speaking staff. Room service is managed via a self-service QR code system, which is quite convenient and hands-off. There's a convenience store to the left of the hotel, convenient for picking up breakfast. Jungmun Beach is within walking distance, though its sand quality isn't as fine as Woljeongri's, and there are hardly any shells. Both the Teddy Bear Museum and BHC Fried Chicken are conveniently within walking distance from the hotel. Directions to the pool are a bit unclear. For nearly 2500, the value for money feels a bit low. The ”most beautiful Starbucks” (Starbucks The Wave) is also nearby.
GGuest UserI stayed at Jeju Ollero for a week and truly enjoyed every moment. The room was spotless, beautifully minimal in design, and the view from my window was simply stunning.
The owner was warm, kind, and always respectful of privacy — yet readily available whenever I needed help. The surrounding area felt peaceful and local, away from commercial crowds, with many hidden gems and delicious food spots to explore.
A special thank you to the owners for helping me carry my heavy luggage up and down, and for the legendary smoothie — it’s truly a must-try!
Highly recommend Jeju Ollero for anyone seeking comfort, kindness, and a touch of Jeju’s authentic charm. 🌿💛

GGuest UserVery good hotel. It’s not close to airport, but the distance is not that long (by taxi). Ordered taxi using airport wi-fi, payed by cash. Very nice receptionists. Clean room, pool on the roof with a nice view. There were not many people (in July). We arrived late but it wasn’t a problem to check in and there is a shop nearby which works at night. There are also some cafes and bars around. Beach is very close, you can go by walk. There are also restaurants and bars on the way. 100% good choice even if you stay for 2 nights.

AAnonymous UserDo not get taken in by the photo. When we arrived, we were so shocked by how old the place looks compared to the picture. The lobby was empty, there's no one by the door at anytime, only the receptionist and they barely acknowledge you till you queue and reach them. They are not fluent in English or Chinese, barely able to communicate at all, till google translate. The room looks like the picture but doesn't look like the picture as well, everything is in the right place but it looks nothing like the pictures. Way less bright, way less glam, and everything is broken literally. Our tap is faulty, it's a struggle to use the basin everyday. The curtain fell and was lying on the floor. The hook for your towel is broken and dangling. The charging socket is broken and can't charge. The shower leaks water even if you're not using then rain shower. And they only allow request of additional 2 bottles of water. Mini bar is fully chargeable. There is no smart TV or any phone screen mimicking, so the TV is useless. You want to pull the curtains? Gotta climb up the tub and walk on it and pull. All in all, very disappointing and not worth my money. It is considered affordable but tbh you could do better. I would've booked another hotel instantly if this was refundable 5 mins inside the room. 3 out of 10 for me.
GGuest UserGrand Josun Jeju is a beautiful property, if you are going during summer, bring your swim gear, the pool is nice. The hotel is also walking distance (about 10 mins) to the F&B area near Teddy Bear Museum, and a cafe that has good breakfast, any further it’s better to have a car. The hotel also has a convenience store on site so you won’t go hungry. If you are willing to walk, there’s McDonald’s and other restaurants within 20 mins walking distance. It’s hard to hail a ride after 8pm.
BBepis Boi UltraSimply lovely. We arrive at the hotel via car, and the check-in was smooth. Even though our room is mountain view, its actually quite nice, as the hotel seem to be surrounded by nearby farms. The location of the hotel is pretty isolated but its not an issue. Just a short walk from here and you can see the beautiful coastline of South Jeju. Our rooms were also provided with Nestle Dolce Gusto Machine, which my mum was excited about as we tried its Lemonade and Ice Peach Tea. The breakfast buffet was really good and had beautiful views of the seaside, together along with the pool.
