The lemongrass chicken was incredibly fragrant; the aroma alone was overwhelming. It was fried to a perfect crisp, with a satisfying crunch when you bit into it, and the meat inside was still tender. Many places around here serve lemongrass chicken, but most end up with a smear of sauce all over your face; this place was refreshingly clean. Anyway, I ate two bowls of rice by myself that day.
The candied taro dish was truly excellent; the portion was generous, and the sweetness was well-controlled, unlike other places that seem to throw in sugar like it's free. You can order both main dishes and late-night snacks; the menu has a wide selection. The drink was a pleasant surprise, perfectly complementing the taro and cutting through the richness. I recommend ordering a small portion to save room for other dishes.
This seafood congee is really good. They're very generous with the ingredients; the squid and shrimp are all genuinely fresh, not frozen. I went early that day, and it wasn't crowded. The owner said the congee is freshly made, and it took a while to arrive, but one sip and I knew it was worth it. If you want to go, remember to avoid peak meal times, otherwise you'll have to wait in line. It's best to go early to get a good seat.
