Bailu Temple Review

Bailu Temple is located at No. 58 Huilong Road, Heshan District, Yiyang City, Hunan Province. It is the largest temple in Yiyang City and a temple with a little history. The entire temple is built on the mountain, and there are quite a lot of pilgrims going up to the top of the mountain.

白鹿寺位于益阳市区资江南岸白鹿山上，始建于唐代宗元和年间（公元806-820年）。白鹿寺名称后来历有两种说法。一种说法是，广慧禅师在山上茅棚弘法时，曾现白鹿含花献佛奇观，于是唐皇敕赐白鹿寺；另一种说法是，唐代名祖裴休贬任荆南节度使时，在山上秉烛夜读，裴休的诵经声引得一只仙白鹿聆听，为纪念仙白鹿听经，当地人将此山命名为白鹿山，在山上建寺院，取名白鹿寺。白鹿寺免费参观，现建筑是1990年重建的，气势宏伟，很有佛韵，“白鹿晚钟”是资江十景之一。门口有几个职业乞讨者，正点上班，有点破坏风景。

上一次，和小师妹打卡了著名的千年白鹿寺，很是不错！这座寺庙始建于唐朝，据说当时正在法师传法之时，出现了一头白鹿，故此得名！！
