It is my favorite in the ancient town of Chongqing, because it has not been opened how to develop, there is no business, the locals still live in the town in their own way. Longtan Ancient Town, with the Longtan River and Lishui River to become a commercial market town, anciently called "Longtan Goods, Litan Money". More than 150 fire walls have isolated the ancient town from more than 200 quaint and quiet courtyards, including the famous former residence of Zhao Shiyan. Unfortunately, the former residence was not open during the epidemic and could not be visited.

龙潭自蜀汉以来，曾相继为“县丞”、“巡检”、“州同”、“县佐”所在地，已有1700余年的历史。自宋及清600余年的“蛮不出洞，汉不入境”土司统治政策，造就了龙潭这一千年古镇独有的建筑艺术和神奇的民族文化。 古镇顺梅树河而建，规模庞大，保存完好。现存3公里的石板街被磨蹭得光可鉴人、青幽如玉，古老的海生物化石时隐时现。50多座土家吊脚楼翘角飞檐，形态美观。街上店铺林立，巷道相互连通。封火墙壁垒森严，气势恢弘。四合院古朴幽静，颇具特色。

到重庆酉阳的龙潭古镇是不在计划中的。从龚滩古滩坐车到酉阳火车站才上午十点多，离下午的火车还有几个小时。打听到附近有个古镇，就坐公交车前往。龙潭古镇景区以龙潭古镇和赵世炎同志故居为主体，总面积3.2平方公里，是全国百个红色旅游经典景区之一。龙潭因伏龙山下两个状如“龙眼”的氽水洞常积水成潭，古镇自“龙眼”之间穿过，形如“龙鼻”，因而得名。
