The Sarawak Museum is the best museum in Southeast Asia. The new and old museums are located on both sides of Dunhagi's Oping Road. The old museum opened in 1891 and is designed in the style of Normandy row houses. Special folklore, natural and geographical history exhibitions, and an introduction to the oil industry in Sarawak are in the collection. The traditional wood carving exhibition on the first floor is spectacular. The new pavilion is used as an event and exhibition, connecting with the old view through a pedestrian bridge. On the ground floor are aquariums, botanical gardens and monuments to heroes.
