Romania Attractions - Stavropololos Monastery Stavropololos Monastery is an Orthodox monastery located in the center of Bucharest, Romania. The name means the city of the cross. The church was built in 1724. One of the consistent interests of the restoration of the monastery in the early 20th century was the restoration of the paintings of the dome caused by the earthquakes in the church over time. One of the main interests of the monastery was the expression of Byzantine music through its choir and Romania's largest collection of Byzantine music books. St #Abbey

Romania's famous Orthodox church, built in 1724, has a women's monastery, although not large, but the architectural style is beautiful and elegant, the color is soft, pleasing to the eye. The nuns who took us to visit were black-clad and black-clad, and the English was very good. They told us that the name of the church was derived from Greek and meant the city of the cross. She said the monastery was actually a small museum with many monuments, and their job was to repair them, copy the broken parts of the Bible, and supplement the faded hand paintings. When she showed us their finished artworks, she could not hide her excitement and pride, and her pale face was red. The nun's introduction was impressive. When everyone praised her, she replied shyly that she was not a nun, she was in the preparatory stage, and had to pass many examinations to officially become a nun, dedicating herself to God, and saying that she had already given herself the nun's name, Then she said a Romanian word and explained to us that the name meant the joy of life. We wished him well in passing the exam and soon he could become the nun he had dreamed of and enjoy the joy of life of his choice.

Stavropoleos Monastery was built by a Greek monk named Ioanichie Stratonikeas. The monastery got its name from the greek stauropolis, that means The city of the Cross. The monastery is built in Wallachian Renaissance architectural style, but you can clearly see the greek influence on the church too. It was first opened in 1724 and actually also doubled as an inn back in the days for Bucharest’s many visitors.

Stavropoles Monstery Church The Church of Stavropolios is not far from the old town of Bucharest. The church was built in the early 18th century and there was a small hotel next to it, but now the small hotel has long disappeared. The church is still in use after hundreds of years of baptism. To be honest, Romania's tourism is not very developed, so the church looks really not very well protected. There is a restaurant near the church that is very good business.
