The room was spacious, and we had a fantastic view of Mount Fuji right from our window. You could even see Mount Fuji from the breakfast area! Free parking is available for guests, but remember to let the front desk know.

Shuttle was super convenient and staff was amazing. I would definitely stay here again if I were to come back. Breakfast was delicious. Make sure you book and include breakfast with your stay. Most places were a tad far walking. And some places opened after 11am Id give service and staff 5/5 they made us feel welcomed and were so kind and professional. Room had a decent size to it. Bed was comfortable Picture shown here was at the Lobby rest area. We were able to get a glimpse of Mount Fuji on the morning we were checking out.

This hotel boasts unbeatable views. Lake Kawaguchiko is right next door, and Mount Fuji stands majestically behind it. You can choose between a lake view room or a mountain view room, but there isn't an option to see both the lake and the mountain from the same room. The hotel's service is absolutely superb. There's a frequent shuttle bus service to and from Kawaguchiko Station. Check-in is handled by a dedicated staff member who comes to you, so you don't have to wait in line at the front desk. The dinner at the hotel is incredibly diverse, with a wide selection of Japanese dishes like sushi, Western cuisine, and Chinese food, all of which are delicious. Breakfast is slightly less impressive than dinner but still very extensive. The rooms are spacious, and the futons are already laid out for you by staff upon arrival. Overall, it's a hotel with excellent value for money, though it does show a little age.

The location is acceptable and convenient enough for exploring the Fuji area, though it’s not particularly outstanding. It serves well as a base for sightseeing and enjoying the surrounding nature. The hotel itself feels somewhat aging, and parts of the property show signs of wear. While the room had a traditional Japanese style that added to the atmosphere, I did notice some dust on the tatami floor, which was slightly disappointing. A bit more attention to detailed cleaning and maintenance would greatly improve the overall impression. The highlight of the stay was definitely the top floor onsen. The bathing facilities were pleasant and relaxing, providing a wonderful way to unwind after a day of exploring. The onsen area appeared clean and well-maintained, and the experience was peaceful and enjoyable.

This hotel has a very traditional, old-fashioned feel. We arrived at Lake Kawaguchiko around 11 PM, so we had to take a taxi to the hotel. We rang the bell at the front desk, and a staff member, wearing traditional wooden clogs, came out. They barely understood English but were very dedicated. They escorted us to our room, meticulously explaining each facility, and even gestured to show us where breakfast would be served. If you want a lake view, I recommend booking a Japanese-style room. We booked a Western-style room, which was on the other side, and in the morning, we saw smoke rising from chimneys outside – a charming, everyday scene. We didn't see any bears, but surprisingly, we spotted monkeys! Breakfast was a set meal, though eating fish so early in the morning took some getting used to. The morning shuttle can take you to Lake Kawaguchiko. For the return trip in the afternoon, the shuttle only picks up after 3 PM. Alternatively, you can take the Red Line bus to a jewelry museum (I can't recall the exact stop) and walk a few steps from there. On weekend evenings, you can watch fireworks from across the river, right outside the hotel. They launch them from both the left and right sides. If you want a closer view, follow the crowd to the left for about 10 minutes.

Just a heads-up, there are two of these hotels in Kofu, so make sure you choose the one near the station. The food was great, with lots of local Kofu specialties, and everything smelled delicious. The hot springs were also very relaxing. However, the hotel is located at a crossroads where pedestrians can't cross directly, so you have to walk a detour, which was a bit inconvenient.

Me and my cousin had a great time at Villa Ensoleille with well-stocked kitchen, and stunning view from jacuzzi. Staffs are so friendly and welcoming, special thanks to Manager Mr. Hiroyuki-san for your hospitality. The villa is with an amazing view of Mt. Fuji and the environment is peaceful as well. We got an amazing time with an incredible Mt. Fiji view. Highly recommended Villa Ensoleille.

I really loved it here and would definitely come back if I get the chance. It's incredibly quiet, almost as if there are only 11 rooms in the whole hotel. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and each room is assigned a private breakfast room. The staff are super warm and patient. Plus, there's free alcohol and Starbucks coffee in the hotel lounge area. Just a heads-up, many hotels in Japan charge per person. I thought my 5-year-old wouldn't incur a charge, but we ended up paying a small extra fee. Honestly, I found it acceptable since we still got to enjoy the services. So, remember to specify the exact number of guests when booking your hotel. The private onsen was an absolute treat! If your child finds it too hot, they can always use the bathtub instead~

Bbrayden_foongIt was definitely an enjoyable and worthy experience of traditional ryokan with tatami and futon with the best view of Mt. Fuji from the room window! The hotel itself overlooks parts of Mt. Fuji with Lake Kawaguchiko, and we even added on dinner and breakfast during the stay! They are simply one of the best meals during the trips in Tokyo! The onsen is another bonus to enjoy while seeing the view of Mt Fuji, even though it is public hot spring which might be a culture shock. Definitely worth to try it out again to enjoy the traditional Japan vibes around Lake Kawaguchiko.

SSkull88The hotel was a pleasant surprise with an unexpectedly rich array of activities. Hidden in the back garden was a large, beautifully manicured Japanese garden. Sipping Japanese matcha while gazing at the small bridges and flowing water was incredibly relaxing. The taiko drum performance was incredibly energetic! The young performers had amazing stamina, drumming, dancing, and chanting all at once. During the intermission, they even invited children to join in and drum to the rhythm. I later found out it was a performance put on by the hotel staff themselves, which showed so much love and dedication. There were also bingo games and piano performances, and even one-year-old kids got to wear cute little yukatas! 🫰 From the room, we had a view of Mount Fuji, which was still covered in snow in March. It was cold but stunningly beautiful. The only minor downsides were that the rooftop open-air onsen with Mount Fuji views was open to women only very early in the morning, and we didn't get a chance to enjoy it due to our schedule. Also, the food might not have been the freshest; after all, fresh seafood isn't exactly a mountain specialty. While we didn't experience vomiting or diarrhea after eating, we did feel a bit off for two days.

RRomain DannaWe had a wonderful stay at Grand Mercure Yatsugatake as a family traveling with a baby. The hotel is surrounded by nature, with beautiful views of the mountains, which immediately creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere — perfect for families who want to slow down and breathe. The hotel is very family-friendly. Traveling with a baby can be stressful, but the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived. Everyone was kind, patient, and attentive, which really made a difference for us as parents. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, with enough space to comfortably stay with a baby. We especially appreciated the peaceful environment at night, which allowed our baby (and us!) to rest well. The facilities were also well suited for families. The common areas are easy to navigate with a stroller, and the overall layout of the hotel feels relaxed and not overwhelming. The natural surroundings add a special charm and make the stay feel refreshing and rejuvenating. Overall, Grand Mercure Yatsugatake is an excellent choice for families with babies who are looking for comfort, tranquility, and good service in a beautiful natural setting. We would definitely consider coming back and recommend it to other families traveling with young children.

GGuest UserFor any Yuru Camp anime fans, if you also are interested in an Onsen experience this is the perfect place. The facilities and staff are amazing! I couldn't believe the size of my room, especially after coming from a business hotel in Tokyo. I thought Deluxe Twin was just the ”deluxe” version of a standard single twin size bed room instead of two twin beds but there are no complaints. Given it's more remote location I was expecting zero English but I was so surprised at how well some of the staff spoke English and had print outs for English speakers. I have to shout out two staff members, Nozomi and Joon Bae's english combined with my limited and grammatically atrocious Japanese they went above and beyond making me understand how everything worked as well as assisting me with my ventures outside of the onsen. They have two e-bikes available for rent which I rode to the next station on the minobu line so I could visit the school that was used in the anime as well as get a taxi to take me to Lake Shibere, from episodes 6 and 7 of season one. It was my first time in Japan, being the only foreigner at the hotel for the two full days, I only visited the baths once however the facilities are amazing and I plan on going back to use the Onsen more.

수비니버스Service staff were efficient, although queueing to trade your keys for your shoes slowed things down. (Understandable, because this is also a day-trip onsen, so the hotel needs to ensure all tabs are covered before letting guests go.) Facilities were old but well-maintained, although my room window couldn't be closed without force. Wide variety of baths to choose from, and convenient hours. Note that there is no shampoo, conditioner or body soap in guestrooms, as this is an onsen facility - all soaps and bath amenities are provided in the onsen area. Several onsite restaurants providing many food options, which made up for the lack of vegetarian-friendly options around the area.
