Receptionist is very friendly, helping us and explaining in details for the amenities in the hotel. We stayed 3 days 2 nights in the hotel, on the second day onsen is under maintenance and great that hotel arrange to send us to another onsen area for complimentary onsen experience. View from the level 4 breakfast area is stunning Mount Fuji view, please don’t miss booking breakfast of the hotel. There’re plenty of restaurants in the hotel, and even at the onsen place. Room is pretty good because tea table and chairs are in the room taking up the space. You’ll enjoy your stay in the hotel, at least we enjoyed.

There are many types of hot spring baths, and although it's small, the swimming pool is fun to do breaststroke, backstroke, and flutter kicks to warm up your body in a healthy way. The breakfast buffet was also very satisfying, with a wide variety of Yamanashi ingredients, and I was full to the brim. I'd like to come again.

This hotel is located south of Lake Kawaguchiko, which isn't the most popular area. It's also quite old, dating back to 1887. However, the facilities and maintenance are up to par, and the hotel has a distinct, traditional Japanese style that exudes a historical sense of luxury. A wonderful surprise was that all the mountain-view rooms offer an unobstructed and stunning view of Mount Fuji, truly unique and beautiful, peaceful and serene. It's definitely worth staying here. Even though the hotel isn't in a prime location around Lake Kawaguchiko, they provide a shuttle service to and from Kawaguchiko train station, which takes about 10 minutes. Another highlight for me was the hot springs. The male and female baths are separate, extremely clean, and quite modern. There are indoor and outdoor baths; the outdoor setting is particularly relaxing. The contrast between the warm spring water and the cold outdoor air creates a comfortable feeling of embracing nature with an open heart. However, it's not advisable to stay in the springs for too long; I was back in my room within twenty minutes. The hot spring experience is definitely one of my fondest memories of this hotel. For dinner, the hotel offers French cuisine and Kaiseki. We ordered one of each. They were decent, but the presentation and dining experience were very impressive. Right behind the hotel is the lake, where you can rent bicycles and cycle around, enjoying the beautiful scenery. All in all, this hotel was excellent and exceeded my expectations.

The hotel is clean and has a free hot spring onsen. The hotel is quite far from the station, but it’s worth it because Mount Fuji is right behind it—huge and absolutely beautiful 😭. It’s also close to a large Daiso. Very satisfying / I’m very satisfied.♥️♥️♥️

The hotel was a pleasant surprise with an unexpectedly rich array of activities. Hidden in the back garden was a large, beautifully manicured Japanese garden. Sipping Japanese matcha while gazing at the small bridges and flowing water was incredibly relaxing. The taiko drum performance was incredibly energetic! The young performers had amazing stamina, drumming, dancing, and chanting all at once. During the intermission, they even invited children to join in and drum to the rhythm. I later found out it was a performance put on by the hotel staff themselves, which showed so much love and dedication. There were also bingo games and piano performances, and even one-year-old kids got to wear cute little yukatas! 🫰 From the room, we had a view of Mount Fuji, which was still covered in snow in March. It was cold but stunningly beautiful. The only minor downsides were that the rooftop open-air onsen with Mount Fuji views was open to women only very early in the morning, and we didn't get a chance to enjoy it due to our schedule. Also, the food might not have been the freshest; after all, fresh seafood isn't exactly a mountain specialty. While we didn't experience vomiting or diarrhea after eating, we did feel a bit off for two days.

We booked this stay for the in-house public hot bath and the lakeside advantage. Check-in was smooth and fast with the staff providing a lot of information, events happening nearby and the different attractions. They spoke good English and was very helpful and informative. The room was disappointing though. It was old, no functional furnitures. The seat covers were very old and with stains. Tv was too small for the size of the room. No convenient outlet near, we used a outlet that was meant for a lamp. Bedding was comfortable though. It is based on traditional house style. The bath was wonderful, not crowded at all. Dont think its worth the price with its current fixtures and furnishing. Unless it was the room that faces the lake but for that they will charge extra.

The room was super small, the bed was small, and there was a bed. But the facilities are complete, the service is very good, and the breakfast is delicious. There is a supermarket nearby and there are many restaurants, which is very convenient. Recommended stay

Quiet place, food is ok, hot springs are very good, room facilities are a bit insufficient, the place to put things is not enough, there is no hook, only hangers, there is no place to put cosmetics in the bathroom, only a small mirror cabinet can put things.

It was definitely an enjoyable and worthy experience of traditional ryokan with tatami and futon with the best view of Mt. Fuji from the room window! The hotel itself overlooks parts of Mt. Fuji with Lake Kawaguchiko, and we even added on dinner and breakfast during the stay! They are simply one of the best meals during the trips in Tokyo! The onsen is another bonus to enjoy while seeing the view of Mt Fuji, even though it is public hot spring which might be a culture shock. Definitely worth to try it out again to enjoy the traditional Japan vibes around Lake Kawaguchiko.

GGuest UserIt was a perfect stay at Bessho Sasa my family and I really appreciated the superb service the staff provided my family (I travelled with my 88-year old mum so we had quite a lot of needs) with. I had left some items in the room and they promptly had it couriered to me in Tokyo. The dinners each night were very well prepared, each day was fun-filled with so many activities. The Taiko show was done so professionally I was surprised that the drummers were all staff of the resort!! I would love to re-visit the resort again some day.

RRomain DannaWe had a wonderful stay at Grand Mercure Yatsugatake as a family traveling with a baby. The hotel is surrounded by nature, with beautiful views of the mountains, which immediately creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere — perfect for families who want to slow down and breathe. The hotel is very family-friendly. Traveling with a baby can be stressful, but the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived. Everyone was kind, patient, and attentive, which really made a difference for us as parents. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, with enough space to comfortably stay with a baby. We especially appreciated the peaceful environment at night, which allowed our baby (and us!) to rest well. The facilities were also well suited for families. The common areas are easy to navigate with a stroller, and the overall layout of the hotel feels relaxed and not overwhelming. The natural surroundings add a special charm and make the stay feel refreshing and rejuvenating. Overall, Grand Mercure Yatsugatake is an excellent choice for families with babies who are looking for comfort, tranquility, and good service in a beautiful natural setting. We would definitely consider coming back and recommend it to other families traveling with young children.

GGuest UserI very much enjoyed my stay at the Shimobe Hotel. I originally wanted to stay at a nearby temple in Mount Minobe but realized that it was mainly an experience made for foreigners. I think we were the only foreigners there for our 2-night stay. I personality want to avoid staying with foreigners and want more of the local experience. The service was great, they could check you in and out without too much of a language barrier. We added dinner during check-in without any problem, we realized that the town closed early at night and was concerned that we wouldn't find a great place to eat dinner. The buffet dinner was great and we got a complimentary sashimi plate and yuzu highball on our second day. The breakfast buffet was also very good with a mix of local and western dishes. The station is located right near the hotel so it makes it a perfect spot to make a quick Mount Minobe day trip.

GGuest UserI've stayed at this hotel multiple times. It's about a 10-minute walk from Kawaguchiko Station, or you can call the hotel from the station for a shuttle. The rooms are spacious, and the views from the windows are excellent. The hot springs are great, with both indoor and outdoor baths. Dinner is a feast, with delicious sashimi, sushi, tempura, grilled fish, and grilled meat. I've already recommended it to my friends!
