This was our second stay at Sunway Lost World Hotel, and it was a much better experience than our first. We were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a Classic Triple room, and having the night park passes included for both nights was a huge plus.
However, there were a few areas that could be improved:
Amenities: The room was clean and the linens were fresh. Unfortunately, we had no hot water in our room for both nights. Despite being told it just ”takes time” to warm up, it never did. Taking a cold shower at 11:00 PM after the night park was a major downside.
Dining & Location: The hotel isn't very close to outside eateries. Room service ends around 10:00 PM, so if you return from the night park late, options are very limited. Since we visited during the Raya break, most nearby Muslim-owned shops were closed, requiring a drive to find food.
Breakfast: Day one was enjoyable, but day two was a bit chaotic due to the surge of guests. Food wasn't refilled quickly enough and finding a table was a challenge and a lot of food were not refilled as it finished.
Overall, a good stay for the park access, but the water temperature and breakfast logistics during peak periods need attention.
Hotel exterior and rooms seems to have some update. Room is quite clean, shower water pressure is good, staff is friendly. Only issue I had was there seems to be some hair oil smell on the pillows, I used a disposable face tower to lay over it to minimize the smell, just a 1 night stay so didn't make a fuss abt it.
I enjoyed my stay overall, especially the cleanliness of the hotel and the excellent customer service. The staff were friendly and attentive, and all the necessary amenities were well provided for guests.
However, I was a bit disappointed with the room interior as it did not reflect the Balinese vibe I was expecting. The design and overall atmosphere felt lacking, including the absence of the signature Bali-style aroma or fragrance that usually enhances the experience.
Additionally, the hotel does not have a swimming pool, which was a downside for me. Overall, it was a comfortable stay, but there is room for improvement in terms of ambiance and facilities.
Title: A Slice of Paradise in Ipoh! The Private Onsen is a Game Changer ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I can honestly say this was one of the best stays I have ever had in Ipoh. If you are looking for relaxation, luxury, and convenience, the IWH Sunway Onsen Apartment is the place to be.
Here is why I can’t stop raving about it:
• The Private Onsen: This is the absolute highlight. Having a private hot spring tub right on the balcony is an experience you usually pay premium hotel prices for. Soaking in the natural geothermal water while looking out at the majestic limestone hills was incredibly rejuvenating. It is the perfect way to unwind.
• The View: Waking up to the view of the greenery and the misty hills is breathtaking. It feels like a retreat far away from the city, yet it is so accessible.
• The Apartment: The unit managed by IWH was spotless, modern, and beautifully decorated. The beds were hotel-quality comfortable (I slept like a baby!), and the amenities provided—from high-speed WiFi to the kitchenette—made it feel like a luxurious home away from home.
• Location: You are practically right next door to the Sunway Lost World of Tambun. It’s incredibly convenient if you are visiting the theme park. Plus, there are plenty of food options and a grocery store nearby.
• The Service: The IWH team was fantastic. Check-in was seamless, the instructions were clear, and they were very responsive to any questions I had.
I would highly recommend this to couples looking for a romantic getaway or families wanting a fun, relaxing trip. I am already planning my next trip back!

The hotel was very pleasant and comfortable. The breakfast was nice, with a good variety of vegetables for the salad. The Singapore-style bihun goreng was so yummy! However, the rice for the nasi lemak tasted a little bit unusual.
My kids really enjoyed the cereal, bihun goreng, bread with jam, and the pastries.
Plus, near the hotel, there were plenty of restaurant and kiosk options around the Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah area. At night, you can rent bicycles, buggies, and other vehicles to ride around the roundabout—it was so much fun! There was even a small train, which the kids absolutely loved.
In the morning, after our wonderful breakfast, my kids and I went back to the roundabout for a brisk walk and spent some time at the playground. It was really enjoyable and a great way to start the day.
I would also like to send my appreciation to Trip.com customer service. The staff responded to my issue promptly and truly tried their best to resolve it. I’m very happy and grateful for the support from Trip.com. Keep up the great service!
Have a wonder stay in this hotel. The location is good and near to one of the famous seafood restaurants. The manager (Steven) is very friendly and helpful, We will for sure stay back this hotel for our next trip in Teluk Intan.
Check-in was quick and efficient. The facilities were great, especially the infinity pool overlooking the lake. Breakfast was decent. The à la carte dinner, however, was just okay; we ordered lamb, and it was so tough it was inedible. Our last night, only the buffet was available for dinner, and it was a bit better. We took a full-morning excursion to visit a local village (we couldn't see the rafflesia flowers during our visit), followed by a trek to a part of the park where animals come to lick minerals from the rocks, and finally another trek to a waterfall where we had lunch. We traveled between areas by speedboat across the lake, which was very relaxing. The excursion itself was interesting, but the waterfall area where you can swim was full of fish, and the water didn't look clear – in fact, it seemed black, probably due to the bottom, which made swimming unappealing. The price of the excursion seemed quite high at €83 per person. Perhaps they could group participants into one boat to reduce costs. We were alone, and another couple who left 5 minutes later and did the same tour was also alone.
Overall, had a good experience during the stay especially with the friendly and attentive staffs on their service provided. The hotel is at the prime location, just a short distance from the scenic Taiping Lake Garden and surrounded by numerous dining options, was highly appreciated for its convenience and accessibility. The room is clean and comfortable, especially the serene pool and beautifully landscaped garden area, which offered a peaceful retreat from the bustle of daily life.
Location: The hotel is quite far from the city and food areas. If you plan to dine outside, you will need to drive about 20 km to Sri Manjung, where AEON Mall, restaurants, and a
McDonald’s are located. The nearest petrol station is also in that area.
Cleanliness: Excellent. Everything is clean and well maintained.
Service: Top notch and very attentive. Especially during the breakfast buffet over the long weekend, the turnaround time was efficient and well managed.
Facilities: As advertised and meet expectations. The Room very spacious for two person. The Makan Kitchen is currently being expanded.
Overall: A very comfortable stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut.
I recently stayed at The Banjaran Hot Springs and had a very relaxing experience. The environment is peaceful and surrounded by nature, which makes it a great place to unwind.
The villa was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. I especially enjoyed the private hot spring and pool, which felt very exclusive and calming. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to help.
The food was decent, and the overall atmosphere of the resort was quiet and luxurious. It’s a good place for a short getaway to relax and recharge.
Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat.

GGuest UserMarina Island Boat transfer easy, although I feel a little expensive. Coffee was cold, they had wrong check in information and I almost tripped on uneven block surface exiting building to boat. Check in completed at reception , with correction to booking. We were in a lower tropical garden villa, which is cheapest room. We were lucky to have part sea view and part back of pool view. Other lower villas in this category, not so good a view. This said, room was gorgeous, despite dead moth in sunken bath area. All the staff were fantastic and helpful. Chatted to some people in over water villas, who were disappointed you could not swim in sea from villa, nor enter sea from beach around jetty , due to sea urchins. On the other side of the Island is Emerrald bay. Absolutely stunning! Beautiful beach and sea to swim in. Lots of space for sun beds, but everyday ran out by 11am! Suggest they get some more! Forfeited scrumptious in all restaurants.
