Room was fairly clean but the hotel is old and a bit run down. The location of the hotel , downtown of Waterbury , is not great. We heard gun shots during the night , and did not feel safe walking around outside. Was told to park our car in the a specific parking lot that ”had surveillance.” All in all - an old hotel in a rough neighborhood. Will not be coming back
I loved the scenery. It was a lovely location and the house-in-the-woods character was well developed from the outside. I didn't feel the interiors were up to par though. I was staying in sunnyside which was a gorgeous house with a very rustic feel but the interiors felt very stuffy and dated. The staff, though friendly, could have been a bit more welcoming especially since it takes a long journey to get to that hotel. I don't feel the ammenities of the location, such as for example the breakfast situation or where we have access to (e.g. for a swim) were explained and there was little of it in the room itself.
It is a stunning venue though. they have much more they can do with it!
Overall, it’s okay, that is, there are fewer seats for breakfast on site, and there are fewer varieties of breakfast.
The deposit on the spot is a bit high, USD100, it's been almost a month, and it hasn't been refunded yet.
The room is okay, that is, the wardrobe is hidden behind the mirror, the bathroom is facing the mirror, the bed is facing the bathroom and the mirror, and the pattern is weird.
It's a normal country hotel with a laundry room, free parking, and a whole food restaurant within walking distance, which solves the problem of eating.
The price is also good.
The room is very good, the breakfast is very rich, there are several restaurants around, there are Starbucks, there is also a small supermarket at the gas station, very convenient! Within 10 minutes walk from the Porter Girls School, and the scenery is super good, very quiet and exquisite town, every day walking is the most enjoyable moment, if you have the opportunity in the future, you will go live.
Convenient location, opposite the delicious The Capital Grill (main steak), next to the Connecticut Science Center, a good place for children to discharge, Bushnell Park is a green area, and cute little squirrels
