La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lawton / Fort Sill

Only giving it one star because I cant give it zero. Came to stay here to see my dear friend graduate from basic at Ft. Sill. We (me and a group of 4 friends) pre-booked online because we are broke college students and wanted to pay when we arrived. We pre-booked a room with 2 queen beds and a pullout couch because there was 5 of us. When we finally got to OK (coming from LA) it was about 11:30pm and we were exhausted just ready to SLEEP. When we got into our room, there was no pullout couch! Not to mention it smelled like a dog rolled around every crevice of that room and then decided to smoke a blunt afterward!! I called the front desk and spoke to a really sweet girl who was willing to give us a correct room, but then said ”all of those rooms are dirty right now, but I can offer you a cot”. Y'all. I am not exaggerating when I say that cot has seen WAYYYY too much. it reeked of ****, even worse than the room did (and that's saying alot). I was beyond infuriated. I just drove 8 hrs and now I have to sleep on a **** cot. I went down to the front and spoke to the same girl (who was around my age and literally all by herself handling this entire hotel!) and I asked her if there was something we could do because it was just unacceptable. She said and I QUOTE ”I am not authorized to give refunds, but my manager Jaime will be in tomorrow morning at 7:30am and will be glad to give you one. Come back down tomorrow morning”. She also encouraged me to complain about the **** smell, as that would ”help my case”. (I would also like to mention here that there were MULTIPLE signs around the hotel and in our room that said no smoking was allowed, even medicinal!) When I came down the next morning. I was met by an INCREDIBLY rude man who was extremely dismissive of my complaints. So rude and disrespectful, and I partially believe it was because I'm a young woman and he's an older man. He told me that I had only booked a room with 2 beds, and said ”that's what it's showing in my system”, which is not true!! My theory is that they gave our prebooked room to someone else, which is understandable since there was no guarantee we would show up with just a pre-booking, and it was 11:30 pm when we showed up. But the least they could have done was give us some type of refund, even partial would have been better than literally nothing! I have stayed in some pretty rough hotels in my life, but nothing compared to the absolute horror I experienced at La Quinta in Lawton, OK. Will NEVER stay here ever again. And, the breakfast sucked. Literally a waffle machine, activia, cereal, and some mushy apples. Don't stay here. Unless you smoke **** and are also a dog, then you will fit right in!

My husband and I stayed here on our way from Nebraska to Texas. I really liked the floor plan of the room. It flows nicely and gives each side privacy. We were very happy with the cleanliness of the bed and the comfort of the mattress and the duvet. The air conditioner works well but the fan would not continue to circulate. The lighting is nice with lots of options. They had great customer service, I'm sure everyone tries their best. Even when calling days later they resolved my credit card issues. But that's about where it stops. The BREAKFAST was OK… Wish there were more options for fruit and fresh pastries. The eggs are not real and there was no meat besides the sausage gravy. Even the waffles are packaged. Upon entering the ROOM there was a huge stain on the carpet that was still sticky. We chose to wear our shoes instead of changing rooms. The hot water for the tub ran out before it was even full. I don't think the bathroom exhaust fan works. There was still moisture in the bathroom eight hours later with it running. The freezer in the kitchenette was dripping all over my items in the fridge and there was water spilling out. Our main reason for stopping here was for both of us to use their FITNESS room after driving for nine hours. Unfortunately only one of the two treadmills worked. It was ridiculously hot in there because the fan on the wall does not operate. There was also no water in the dispenser provided. However the treadmill that did work is a nice one and it's nice that they provide towels. I know that seems like a lot of complaints but for the price I paid, I'd still come back here and be able to overlook the negatives.
Aloft Tulsa Downtown

Downtown Tulsa
There was a prolonged heat dome over Oklahoma a couple of weeks ago and it was no time for a hotel's AC to be having problems, but alas that was the case with the Aloft Tulsa Downtown. Two rooms we were given on the 10th floor had thermostat set to 68 but room temperatures of 79 and 81. Then we got moved to the 3rd floor, which was good the first day but then had the same problem the second day. The afternoon/evening desk person was nice and apologetic each time we came with an issue. Eventually a maintenance guy came up to the room at 10:30 at night and worked on it for a while. He managed to get it to where the temp would top out at 75 or so, which was livable. But it wasn't just a room issue; the whole hotel seemed to be struggling, as corridors were not cool and the desk people were keeping the lobby door open and had a large fan blowing at them. Otherwise, the room was clean and enjoyable, with a high ceiling and plenty of boutique touches similar to other Alofts. One of us didn't like how the bathroom was arranged with a sliding door and no good place to put the bathmat after a shower. The other of us was okay with the layout but didn't like that the middle position of the bathroom faucet gives hot water to drink. There are food items including a variety of items for breakfast on sale in the lobby. There is a pool that guests seemed to be enjoying and an outdoor table area and patio from which we could watch sunsets. The morning desk person had lots of interesting advice for things to see or do in Tulsa or outlying areas. For what it's worth, the Apple Maps app has the wrong idea where the hotel is and will take you to location that does you no good. You need to go to Denver and Fifth, then past the Tulsa County Central Library, and that's where the entrance is. Then once you've found it, there's a gate that has to open for you, both entering and leaving. And if you're just out for a walk, there are different gates for a human to use, which require a code to get back in - be sure to ask the desk person because they don't inform you otherwise. The reason for all that security may be the immediate area, which is not that appealing. Despite being the downtown, there isn't much going on there, even on weekdays. And sadly there is a homeless problem in the area, especially in front of the aforementioned library (which is a great facility if you go inside). About the most normal activity comes in the morning when lawyers and others enter the Tulsa County Courthouse which is opposite the library. Now maybe the area is more active when there is an event at the BOK Arena a couple of blocks away, or a convention is taking place at the Cox Business Center right behind the hotel, but when were there for three days, the area was just not happening (in stark contrast to Bricktown in OKC, where we had been previously).

I liked this hotel. It’s nice, the lobby is nice, the sitting area is fabulous and has a big fireplace and comfy chairs. The staff were helpful. Bar food was okay. There was a lot of space to walk my 2 pups. Bed was comfortable and the a/c worked great. Only con would be that there were a few little ants crawling on the wall by the desk, not near the bed, on the other side of the room. Probably an anomaly. They offered to come and take care of it but I didn’t want to breathe bug spray and I didn’t want to change rooms.

Night personal more pleasant to guests than morning personal. Got on his bad side w/o trying. Room was clean (checked for bed bugs, it passed inspection) wifi was good, TV channels had wide variation. (It had CNN) breakfast was included, had a fair amount of choices.

I would stay here every time I come to Oklahoma City for a job if the government can reimburse it. It is ideally located a few blocks from the downtown Bricktown community. I also love the relatively quiet environment and it is in the heart of the Bricodon community. Their new decoration perfectly combines historical aesthetics with modern technology. No matter what you order, the restaurant never disappoints you, and room service. The bar is always lively and there are plenty of good cocktails to choose from. I set a standard room so there is no refrigerator and microwave inside. I also don’t like to put these in the room. If you want a refrigerator and microwave, ask in advance. The pillows are very soft, and if you want something to use for the backrest, you may have to ask for it or carry it yourself.

We stayed Dec 21-23rd at this property. It was ok. The property is very dated and in need of desperate deep cleaning. Carpets, walls, bathrooms. They need new mattresses. Comfort wasn’t my concern—it’s cleanliness. The mattress in room 326 has a giant yellow spot on it. I slept without bedding because I didn’t want to sleep under the covers near the yellow spot. Front desk said they had no available blankets so I went without. There was only one elevator working and it was extremely slow. Going down stairs isn’t an option with a toddler and stroller. Breakfast was ok. Sausage tasted good but it was way over cooked and so were the eggs. The pool was good. Highly chlorinated but it was clean. The spa was hot! It felt nice on my feet but I couldn’t get in because of the heat but that was ok. The staff was very friendly. No issues there. One note that isn’t a reflection of the hotel as the Embassy Suites across the street had same issue—there were several car break ins on the first night we were there. Targeted trucks only. Multiple nice expensive cars were left untouched. But not all trucks broken into either. So if you stay just be vigilant to hide your items or take them in.

The staff was very friendly. I booked a room with a king bed and a sofa bed. When I got to the room I immediately knew something didn't look right. The room was considerably smaller than what the pictures showed. I could pretty much tell right off the bat that there was not enough room between the bed and the sofa, to unfold the sofa. After attempting to open the sofa bed, the sofa bed opened up leaning onto the king bed, I called the front desk asking how we were supposed to use the sofa bed. She told me the furniture would have to be rearranged and she could send her guy up, but he didn't speak English, or I could move the sofa myself. I had to move the lamp and turn the sofa 45*. Upon moving it I discovered a potato chip and a pair of socks from under the sofa. Later I went to use a bath towel and it was dirty. There was a fork left in the dishwasher which prompted me to check out the silverware in the drawer, where I found several pieces were dirty.

Where to begin.... I can't believe I never left a review for this place. My mom and I had been staying at the this hotel for a year while she was receiving chemo. The staff was truly AMAZING. They ended up becoming a second family. I apologize if I forget any names so I'm just not going to use any. Breakfast attendant was super sweet and always made sure my mom was fed and had her hot chocolate...even in the summer. All the front desk agents were helpful, talkative, and attentive. It truly was appreciated when we were going through such a rough time. They were flexible with our schedule when it changed, helped with bags, made sure mom had extra blankets, chatted with her, and were concerned when we weren't there when we should have been. Housekeeping worked their butts off!! Always made sure that our rooms were ready for us and were flexible when we needed a late checkout. Maintenance (when they finally got someone!) was great! I am generally hot natured and if my AC wasn't working properly, they were on it. This hotel saw many ups and downs with weather, COVID, staffing, renovations, and management changes but ALWAYS had a smile when we saw them. I really wish I could afford to stay there but I have left IHG as an employee. I will be back eventually to see them even if it's just to say ”hi”. Mom is managing in her illness and still fighting hard. Thanks to your staff, she looked forward to going to chemo and refused to stay anywhere else. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
