Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal is a must-see attraction in India, praised by the poet Tagore as "an eternal teardrop". Completed in 1654, the Taj Mahal was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for Queen Ajman Banu at a huge cost. This palatial mausoleum is mainly constructed of pure white marble, inlaid with precious stones from all over the world. The Taj Mahal also has a completely symmetrical architectural aesthetic, combining Indian and Persian architectural art. The entire building complex includes the vestibule, the main entrance, the main body of the mausoleum and other attractions. You can enter the vestibule from the west, east and south entrances, and then enter from the main entrance. There is a marble pool in the middle called Hawdal-Kawthar (meaning "Pool of Abundance"), and the reflection of the Taj Mahal in the water is clearly visible. There is a bench next to the pool that attracts many tourists to sit and take pictures. This is where Princess Diana took pictures when she visited the Taj Mahal. At the end of the pool, on the raised marble platform is the Taj Mahal. There is a tower at each corner of the mausoleum. It is warm golden-orange in the early morning, white in the sun, and gradually turns from gold to pink and dark red at dusk, and turns silvery white again at the beginning of the moon. Akbar's tomb
To commemorate Akbar the Great, who brought prosperity to the Mughal Empire, his son Jahangir built the tomb in 1613 AD. The architectural style was a novel hybrid at the time. It can be seen from the four tall white marble minarets erected at the four corners of the gatehouse. The cemetery is majestic. The four walls of the south gate are dug out doors and windows with cave-like arches, and white, black and blue stones are densely inlaid on the red sandstone outer wall to form gorgeous flowers and geometric patterns. The real stone material, after hundreds of years of wind and rain, still looks brand new and beautiful. Along the door frame is inlaid a circle of white marble, on which is engraved with Persian verses praising Akbar the Great. The original design concept was to bury all his descendants here, but in fact, apart from Akbar himself, only one of his princesses was buried here. In early February, we visited Agra Fort in the afternoon, dedicating about an hour to explore this historic site. Accompanied by a private guide, we delved into the fort's rich history, which we found both captivating and informative. Navigating the fort was straightforward, though it was quite crowded during our visit. The architecture and design were impressive; however, it's worth noting that a significant portion of the fort is closed to the public, as it is currently utilized by the Indian Army. This limitation restricted access to many areas, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, we would rate our experience 4 out of 5 stars.

The Shri Mankameshwar Temple in Agra is one of the ancient temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located close to the Agra Fort Railway Station. One has to descend a few steps to reach the sanctum sanctorum. Devotees have to wear traditional Indian attires like Dhoti or Saree to enter the temple. The Shiva Linga, which is covered with silver metal, is said to have been created by the Lord himself during the Dawapara era. It is a must for every devotee visiting the city.

Tomb of Akbar is a magnificent Mughal-era mausoleum built in the 16th century for Emperor Akbar. The tomb is set in a vast, serene garden with red sandstone walls, intricate carvings, and grand gateways.Visitors are often struck by the harmony of its symmetrical design, the impressive jali work, and the calm ambiance that surrounds the emperor’s cenotaph. It’s a must-see for history enthusiasts and architecture lovers alike. Best visited in the cooler months of October–March.
