Great Smoky Mountains National Park
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, located at the junction of Tennessee and North Carolina, has about 10 million tourists every year and is the most visited national park in the United States. In 1983, UNESCO listed the Great Smoky Mountains National Park as a natural heritage and included it in the World Heritage List. The logging industry almost destroyed the original forest in this area, and restoration has become the theme of today. Parks provide unique resources for outdoor recreation. Daily bottlenose dolphin shows and California sea lion performances are family favorites, and interactive areas like the touch pool are perfect for children to explore.
