We came from Russia. We were worried about translation difficulties, but the wonderful Selin created a wonderful atmosphere. It was a very harmonious tour; we managed to see the Great Wall of China and the Summer Palace in one day. There was no rush. I definitely recommend it.

He didn't rush to conclusions, but rather unfolded the story layer by layer, starting with the background of the Great Wall's construction, its historical context, its military function, and the sacrifices of ordinary people, placing the grand historical narrative back into the context of real people and the era. Listening to his explanations wasn't just about gaining knowledge; it was about feeling the weight and warmth of history. Beyond his professionalism, Mr. Chen's sense of responsibility and meticulousness were even more impressive. The guide was pleasant and advised us to go to a less crowded area. He was very polite. He also had a good car. We were just a family in the car, and the guide was very accommodating when we asked to stop at a grocery store along the way.

I'd like to share my experience. It's warm on the wall on January 8th. The temperature is just above freezing. Those accustomed to Far Eastern and Siberian winters with temperatures of -20-30 degrees Celsius will find it very comfortable. We haven't tried the green route. It's shorter (1.5 hours) and easier. We climbed the red route (2.5 hours) from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, taking 40 minutes each way. From 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, it's a stroll. From 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, it's a dash up steep steps. The steps are of varying sizes. Watch your step. Wear light shoes. And don't dress too warmly. A wet back, and maybe even something else, will ruin the experience. It's better to dress lightly and sportily, and pack some extra gear in case the wind picks up.
