The travel experience stems from interactions with people. I'm very grateful to have met our driver on this trip—a local Naxi woman, a mother herself. She not only kindly reminded us to rent warm clothes, mitigating our lack of preparation regarding light clothing, but also addressed the potential risks. Although Blue Moon Valley doesn't involve visiting snow-capped mountains, the route passes through high-altitude areas where we encountered unusual conditions such as low temperatures and rain. Through scenic views and lively conversations along the way, we not only appreciated the panoramic view of Lijiang's main city and the changing seasons, but also witnessed the changes Lijiang has undergone in the past 20 years—a truly enriching experience.

We hired a driver for 8 hours for a day trip to Snow Jade Mountain & Blue Moon Valley,. We purchased the cable car tickets separately, and once the booking was confirmed, the itinerary was planned with the driver via WeChat. The driver was very good and having our own car gave us a lot of flexibility. We could start and finish the day at our own pace, without having to follow a fixed schedule. We also appreciated avoiding the crowds and rigid schedule of tour groups, which we saw plenty of throughout the park. Overall, it was a convenient and comfortable way to explore the area, and we would definitely recommend having a private driver for the flexibility and ease it provides.

Great trip. Simple, picked us up from hotel, bus out to the TLG, with a couple of short and simple photo or generel interest stops, then into the gorge. An hour or so for us to explore. Bought our own tickets for the escalator back up. We used our wechat account to communicate with the tour people, made it very easy. We didn't opt for the lake option because it was near our hotel. Left hotel in the morning, back by around 2/3 pm.Thanks.
