Reviews: Son Tra Peninsula, Marble Mountain and Hoi An Ancient Town Group tour: Depart from Da Nang
Guest User2026-02-07
This half-day tour was booked on short notice; I booked it as soon as I landed in Da Nang that morning, and we departed promptly at 1:30 PM. Although it was only half a day, we visited quite a few places. First, we went to Son Tra Peninsula, where the sea view from the mountain was quite nice; taking a taxi would have cost a lot. Then we went to Marble Mountains, which are mainly caves and not very high. The English-speaking guide had a heavy Southeast Asian accent, but it was still understandable, and he was very enthusiastic, leading us through the entire tour. Next, we went to Hoi An. It felt quite late when we arrived, so after dinner, we only had a little over an hour left to explore, just enough for taking photos. However, the fellow travelers we met along the way were all very interesting; we helped each other, chatted, and took photos, making it a fun and memorable trip.

The tour lived up to the description. I loved everything. The route ran from the pier to the Ferris wheel and back to the northernmost bridge. There was no karaoke on the boat—that's a good thing! There was water and a plate of watermelon and mango on the tables.

There is no tour specifically to Hoi An so we took this because it is the shortest (6 hours instead of one full day). Loc is a good guide giving us enough info. Take the elevator to the top of Marble Mountain helps with our feet😃 a bit of a queue but not too long a wait. The sea and hill view is quite nice although the sea view is marred by a huge apt/hotel. Hoi An is worth visiting. It was termed with visitors but we could still walk along the river quite comfortably. The scenery is really magical. Only flaw: rock band playing live music (I think). It spoiled the magical ambiance. I would rather have beautiful traditional or modern Vietnam music being showcased and not western music. Plenty of food and things to shop here. Must visit!
