Reviews: Beijing Highlights Private Day Tour: Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace (Multi-language options available)

We were very pleased with the tour. I'll say right away that this isn't a detailed exploration of every corner of the included sites—to explore each, you'd probably need to spend at least a day at each of the three places. Here, we spent an hour and a half to two hours at each place, starting at 8 a.m. and finishing around 3:30 p.m. This gives us the opportunity to get to know the Temple of Heaven, the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace, calmly walking through them. The tour guide, Pasha, is an extremely pleasant person, both as a guide and as a person. He speaks with an accent, but it's perfectly understandable. He gave an engaging account of the history of each site, including dates and historical events. What's especially nice is that we got into the Forbidden City in 10 minutes, thanks to Pasha. I'd previously read that queues can take between an hour and three hours—and this was noticeable from the number of people. It's important to understand that the tour doesn't include a visit to the treasury or any other specific sites. We communicated with the guide via WeChat.

Amazing! Our tour guide, Jay, was great! Fluent English, great explanation, very helpful when you have questions. One of the best tour guides I’ve had so far since arriving in China. The places we visited are also beautiful. But since we’re trying to squeeze everything into 1 day, obviously, you won’t have detailed history of each place. Jay did his best though IMO. The lunch was also good. Got to taste 北京烤鸭 (Beijing duck), Kungpao chicken, and plenty other dishes (can’t remember the name though).
Reviews: In-depth tour of Beijing's Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven Park (Altar of Prayer for Good Harvests + Circular Mound Altar)

Thank you so much to our guide, Sonya, for a very interesting and informative tour! You can enjoy visiting two different sights in one day, even though they're located on opposite sides of the city! Even the rain didn't stop us from hearing and seeing the truly impressive history of the Summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven! The rain added a special touch! We were initially disappointed by it, but then, seeing the videos and photos, it was a relief.

Guide Liu's explanations were vivid, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. He not only eloquently recounted the historical context and interesting anecdotes of each attraction, but his vivid storytelling style made us feel as if we were actually there, truly experiencing the warmth of history. The entire itinerary was well-organized, and Guide Liu was very considerate, answering all our questions with great patience. Highly recommended!

"I didn't do any research beforehand and just blindly booked the Mutianyu Great Wall + Temple of Heaven tour, and the result was a wonderful surprise! The tour guide was a native Beijinger who could talk about history and culture effortlessly. He explained the defensive system of the Great Wall and the etiquette and rules of the Temple of Heaven in a captivating way. Tickets, transportation, and the route were all included. No queuing, no need to check maps, just pure sightseeing with no hidden agendas. The day was both relaxing and rewarding. I highly recommend it when visiting Beijing!" "The Mutianyu + Temple of Heaven tour was so thoughtfully arranged. The tour guide slowed down the pace throughout, reminding us of steps and water stops; we took the cable car up and down the Great Wall, avoiding a strenuous climb; the Temple of Heaven focused on the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests and the Circular Mound Altar, with clear and concise explanations. The driver was punctual, the seats were spacious, there were no shopping stops, and the whole trip was comfortable and great value!"
