Reviews: Whitney Plantation Tour with Transportation from New Orleans
Guest User2026-01-22
We had a great experience visiting Oak Alley Plantation, and a big part of it was thanks to our driver, Kin. Originally from New Orleans, he shared a lot of knowledge about the city’s history during the drive and gave us excellent recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to try. He was truly great and very professional. I highly recommend him! His vehicle was also very comfortable, which made the trip even more enjoyable. As for Oak Alley itself, the visit is interesting for anyone who wants to see the inside of a former slaveholder’s house, as both the mansion and the grounds are very well preserved. The guided tour of the house is paid, but access to the gardens and the former slave quarters is free. If your main interest is learning more about the lives of enslaved people, I would recommend visiting Whitney Plantation instead, as it offers a deeper and more focused perspective on that history.

Wade was our guide and he was awesome. Loves what he does and was super knowledgeable about the swamp and the ecosystem. Beautiful Journey into a really serene and exceptionally pretty place. Can’t recommend this enough with any group - family - friends- whatever… it’s wonderful for all ages
Reviews: New Orleans: 9th Ward Hurricane Katrina History Tour
Guest User2026-04-09
Brilliant tour! Real stories and information from a local - what more could you want?! If you’re visiting New Orleans you should definitely book this tour as you will see a side of NOLA that you wont see on any other tour, and to learn about the events that took place in 2005 from a perspective of actual folks that are from ninth ward is what made this tour so great. Tour guide Hollis was lovely and even dropped us back into town afterwards as we used uber to get to the meeting point. The meeting point is also a great local spot for food! You must try something from their menu :) the car was also very comfy.

The dinner buffet was so good. I really enjoyed the creole pasta. Perfect sun setting excursion on Mississippi River. I just wish they got us out of the sweltering heat faster and aboard.
