Thank you to our tour guide, Cheche, for making our day so enjoyable. Before we set off, the guide explained the itinerary very clearly, gave us a history lesson about the Simatai Great Wall on the bus, and patiently made sure everyone knew how to explore the area after we got off. The scenic area is truly beautiful, with chubby and adorable cats everywhere. The off-season meant fewer crowds, which made it easier to take photos. Personally, I think the Simatai Great Wall is a must-see; it's truly breathtaking.ā

Doing this trip during the winter was so worth it- there was almost no one else at the Jinshaling section of the wall when we were there! If it is snowy/icy, I wouldn't recommend going to Jinshaling though as it will be too slippery (there were some steep climbs). The driver was there on time to drop us off at the wall and was there again to take us back. One thing I would say is that you do NOT get a guide with this tour, basically just a driving service- I thought that wasn't very clear on the description. Everything else was great, no complaints šā
