Reviews: Jinshanling Great Wall Day Trip with Private English Speaking Driver Service
Guest User2026-04-16
My family and I booked this tour a little last minute but it was very easy to navigate and organise. Our driver Mr. Ping, from Leo’s private tours was absolutely exceptional from the start, he contacted me straight away to organise the pick up location. He was gave us some good information about the wall, and during our hike our son had a small incident that required medical attention, he attended our sons wound immediately and on our return journey he took us to a hospital that had English speaking staff, and also told us once we were done what to visit in that area. Despite a visit to the hospital, we had an amazing experience, he really made the trip so reassuringly smooth and I would recommend this booking just for Mr. Ping.

The tour includes round-trip transportation (which is best arranged in advance), and they explain how to access the city walls and the entrance process. They provide transportation to the entrance, where you can have lunch on your own, or in our case, we brought our own food. Once at the top of the walls, we took some time to eat and relax, as they give you plenty of time to explore the beautiful walls on your own. On the way back, they make a stop in another town; you can enter for a fee if you wish, or wait outside. From there, you can see the walls illuminated at night. For us, the tour was exactly what we expected and very reasonably priced compared to other tours. Susy was very friendly and attentive to the pickup.
Reviews: Beijing: 4-Hour Small-Group Tour (Max 20 People)–Forbidden City&Jingshan Park with Tickets

The tour through the Forbidden City was fantastic. Mike, our group guide, speaks excellent English and has a wealth of knowledge. Everything was superbly prepared and well-structured; you can tell he's experienced. I wouldn't recommend visiting the Forbidden City alone, as the background information really makes the experience more impactful. The Forbidden City is huge and very popular with tourists, but the crowds are mostly well-dispersed. There was also a short break to make the four hours less tiring. Definitely worth a visit. The park was also very beautiful.

highly recommend to any solo travellers. Jimmy was our tour guide and he is very knowledgable. For 4 hours, he sure knows how to make it engaging and fun to learn about the history
