Baifo Mountain Scenic Area
Baifo Mountain, formerly known as Weishan, is 370 meters above sea level. It is located in the north of Jiao Village, Dongping Town, Dongping County, Tai'an City, Shandong Province. It is famous for the grotto statues on the mountain. Although the mountain is not high, it is the first of the ten-mile long mountains. From north to south, it stretches for twelve miles, with dozens of large and small hills, connected by mountains and peaks. Baifo Mountain is the southern head, and it has been said since ancient times that "the mountain is amazing". Baifo Mountain is like a Maitreya Buddha sitting upright, laughing at the sky, majestic and generous, smiling to welcome guests from all directions and protect the land of Dongyuan. On the south side of the mountain top, there are two natural deep caves, "Black Cloud Cave" and "White Cloud Cave". Whenever the rainy weather comes in summer and autumn, the two caves spit out clouds like a cover, wrapping around the mountain, and it rains the next day. Therefore, there is a local agricultural proverb that "Baifo Mountain wears a hat, and the old man of the crops sleeps." From the top of the mountain to the south side of the mountainside, the mountain is steep, as if it was cut by a knife, and the green pines and cypresses shade the Buddhist gate. Here is the cave statue group. The Buddhist cave group includes the Big Buddha Cave, the Small Buddha Cave, the East Buddha Cave, the Tang Cave and the open-air statues. Daicun Dam
The dai cun ba attraction is located 10 km southeast of Dongping County, at the confluence of the Qing and Wen Rivers, northeast of Gaocun Village in Pengji Town. Spanning the Dawen River at coordinates 35°54′N, 116°33′E, it stands as one of China's ancient hydraulic engineering marvels, often hailed as the "Second Dujiangyan." Originally constructed during the Ming Dynasty when Emperor Chengzu relocated the capital to Beijing, there was an urgent need to develop north-south water transport. However, the insufficient water supply in the Huitong River north of Jining limited canal transport. In 1411 (the 9th year of the Yongle reign), Minister of Works Zong Li adopted the suggestion of water control expert Bai Ying from Wenshang, breaking the upstream city dam and building a barrier here to divert the Wen River into the Xiaowen River, which flowed south to Nanwang in Wenshang and into the canal, "to aid water transport." This became the primary project for diverting the Wen River to supply the canal, ensuring unimpeded passage for boats. Initially an earthen dam, it underwent major renovations during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty and the Daoguang and Guangxu reigns of the Qing Dynasty, achieving its current scale. The dam stretches 1,500 meters in a northeast-southwest arc, divided into three sections. The southern section consists of three stone dams from south to north: the Rubble Dam, the Flowing Water Dam, and the Exquisite Dam. The middle section is called the Taihuang Dike, while the northern part is a composite earth dam. The three connected stone dams vary in height, allowing them to overflow or stop overflowing sequentially as the Wen River's water level fluctuates, regulating the water flow into the canal. During extreme floods, the composite earth dam overflows automatically to release floodwaters and protect the structure. The Taihuang Dike not only aids flood discharge but also directly faces the water, safeguarding the main dam. The integrated design of dai cun ba's three-part hydraulic system is a masterpiece of Chinese water engineering and a pioneering achievement in hydraulic history. Between the three dams, elevated platforms were constructed, with the northern platform originally housing the Dragon God Temple, General Temple, and Bai Gong Temple, though these no longer exist. The dam's imposing structure resembles a giant serpent or a mighty dragon, lying across the Qing and Wen Rivers like an unyielding wall, dramatically separating the two waters. In summer and autumn, white waves surge over the dam with a roar like tigers and dragons, earning "The Roar of dai cun ba" a place among Dongping's Eight New Scenic Wonders.Dongping · 9.1 km from downtown

Kunshan is also known as "Kunshan". Legend has it that when King Mu of Zhou went hunting here, he was trapped by bandits and had no water. His horse dug the ground and found a spring, so the mountain was called "Kunshan" and the spring was called "Horse Running Spring". At the end of the Sui Dynasty and the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, the Wagang Army led by Li Mi built an ancient mountain stronghold on the mountain. Lashan National Forest Park
Lashan National Forest Park is located on the west bank of Dongping Lake in Dongping County. It has four Attraction: Lashan, Liugongshan, Kunshan and Jinshan. It is 30 miles long from north to south. There are 72 large and small peaks, surrounded by mountains and rivers, with beautiful scenery, dangerous rocks, secluded caves, strange trees, shaded by greenery, and beautiful scenery. The main peak, Lashan, is known as the "Little Dai Peak". Baoxiang Temple is located in the northwest corner of Wenshang County. It is now a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a famous Buddhist cultural tourism destination in China. Family! Tai'an Dongping Lake must be praised! The lake water is so clear, and the heart is open when you look at it from a distance. The surrounding scenery is also beautiful, and the air is full of the smell of nature. It's quite big, the air is good, and there are cars up the mountain. It's convenient for the elderly and children, and the mountain road is green and natural. The hotel environment is good👌sanitary and quiet! The food is large! Worth a visit!

Today I visited the Daicun Dam in Dongping, during the dry season. There was little water flowing over the dam, lacking the expected powerful surge. Compared to the Dujiangyan Irrigation System in Sichuan, the visual impact was slightly weaker. The 600-year-old stone dam lies quietly across the Wen River. Although there are no waterfalls, the weathered stones still reveal the ingenuity of the ancients in water management. This "heart of the canal," stripped of its hustle and bustle, possesses a profound and serene historical depth.

Arriving at the cable car station at 9 AM, there was a very long queue, mostly senior citizen tour groups. Descending the mountain around noon was much better; there was no need to queue. Overall, it was fantastic! Everyone should definitely travel during off-peak times.

The Confucius Temple, Confucius Mansion, and Confucius Cemetery (the Three Confucian Sites) are rich in history and culture, especially the Confucius Temple, which is the ancestral temple of Confucianism worldwide and is well worth a visit. Many artifacts from the Confucius Mansion have been moved to the Confucius Museum. The Confucius Cemetery is a bit far to walk from; you'll need to take a taxi and then a shuttle bus within the scenic area.
