The hills, lake, and steppe contrast pleasingly with one another. The changes of the four seasons are distinct within the Duolun Lake Scenic Area. In the summer it is warm and rainy, and in the autumn it is pleasantly cool. The Shanxi Association in Duolun was collectively funded by Shanxi merchants in 1745 during the Qing Dynasty. Originally named Fumo Palace and also known as Guan Di Temple, it served as a gathering place for Shanxi merchants in the Duolun area for meetings, entertainment, and discussions. At the time, it was the only provincial guild hall in Inner Mongolia, earning it the nickname "Frontier Trading Port." The complex features over 100 rooms, with key structures including the grand entrance gate, opera stage, guest quarters, secondary gate, triple passage hall, east-west corridors, side rooms, and main hall. The Badaling Great Wall is a highly representative section of the Ming Great Wall, located in Yanqing, Beijing, north of Juyong Pass. Since ancient times, it has been a strategic military location guarding the northwestern passage to the capital. The pass city is trapezoidal in shape, narrow in the east and wide in the west, with two gates, east and west. The east gate bears the inscription "Juyong Outer Town," and the west gate bears the inscription "Key to the North Gate." Both inscriptions remain clearly legible to this day. Extending north from the pass is the North Wall, along which more than ten watchtowers are distributed; to the south is the South Wall, which has fewer watchtowers. North Tower 8 is the highest point of the entire section, at over 1,000 meters above sea level, and from its top you can overlook the magnificent sweep of the wall winding along the mountain ridges. The North Wall has higher terrain and steeper slopes with open views, and is the main route for most visitors; the South Wall is relatively gentle and less crowded, making it suitable for visitors who want to take photos at a relaxed pace and avoid the crowds. If time permits, walking the South Wall first and then the North Wall is a more leisurely arrangement. Badaling Great Wall is also one of the earlier sections of the wall opened to the public. The top surface of the wall is paved with square bricks, and the widest parts can accommodate five horses walking side by side. Defensive structures such as battlements and arrow holes are well preserved, and walking along it gives a direct sense of the construction standards of Ming Dynasty border defense works. The autumn colors are absolutely beautiful and pristine. Strolling around slowly with the autumn breeze in the air is incredibly pleasant. The only downside is that some roads are under construction, preventing you from circling the lake and forcing you to backtrack. However, given the stunning scenery, it's still highly recommended.

The building of this very small scenic spot has basically maintained its original appearance. Those who like ancient buildings and study Duolun's history and culture can arrange to visit it. The guild hall is located in a residential area, surrounded by an expanded commercial district, but many stores are closed. It can be visited in half an hour, so it is not recommended to go there.

A visit to the Badaling Great Wall is a must when in Beijing. It's divided into the Southern and Northern sections. Climbing the Great Wall is a truly breathtaking experience, showcasing the magnificent landscape of our motherland. The scenery is beautiful, but there are also many people. It's very convenient to take the high-speed train from Beijing North Station to Badaling Station.

Our tour guide lily was great! She helped us understand the history of the museum and was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend! It took close to 3 hours for the entire trip and was a great history lesson! She also shared tips on what to do next.
