I used this in KL, Bangkok and Shanghai. Overall the signal was ok. Sometimes we do get a drop out but it’s not often. We managed to use all social media platforms with this eSIM at Shanghai. Only thing is if you want to hail a ride you’ll need a number for it in china.★

Wi-Fi is required for activation; it works more reliably than a local physical SIM card in Vietnam. I was only able to activate it via a QR code; activation using the activation code failed, resulting in an error.
