This was an incredible experience. The guide, Marco, was so friendly and attentive, and it was so fun getting to know more about him and his farm while we were on our beautiful sunset ride. He spoke English very well, and it was easy to understand him and the instructions. It’s a bit of steep and rocky terrain at times, so if you’re uncomfortable with that it’s good to know. But as a beginner (haven’t ridden a horse in years) it was still pretty easy and anytime I needed help, Marco was there. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and I highly recommend going in the evening like we did. There are also dogs, peacocks and other birds, and cats around the farm that are friendly and fun to watch while you’re waiting to go on your ride. This alone made our trip to Catania so worth it!!

Renato was an exceptionally nice and knowledgeable guide! However, I had imagined a wine tasting to be a bit different than drinking two bottles of wine alongside delicious antipasti in a rustic hut. It was still fun though!

Amilcare is a lovely guide! He’s from Catania & lives up in the hills along the way to Etna and is very knowledgeable of the local area. He is such a warm and knowledgeable man — it was just 2 of us, my fiancé and I who joined the tour. We can sometimes admittedly be awkward with strangers & new people, but his friendly & chatty demeanor was very assuring & we felt right at home & knew we were in good hands. He drove us around to various lookout points, gave detailed explanations of what we were seeing, and even drew diagrams in the sand to help illustrate his explanations about the volcano, the landscape, and its history. This was all capped by a glass of amazing local wine, salami, smoked cheeses, olives and crackers from Puglia as the sun began to set. He took great photos every chance along the way! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If you want to see Mama Etna & have a unique experience without a ton of effort & hiking to the summit, book ASAP! You wont regret
