I installed an e-SIM card immediately after purchasing it (in Russia). Upon arrival, I enabled the SIM card using the slider, then enabled roaming—everything worked right away! 2GB of data is more than enough if your hotel has Wi-Fi. If not, get more. I didn't have to contact support. The signal quality was fine everywhere (rarely, when I switched to 4G).

I used this in KL, Bangkok and Shanghai. Overall the signal was ok. Sometimes we do get a drop out but it’s not often. We managed to use all social media platforms with this eSIM at Shanghai. Only thing is if you want to hail a ride you’ll need a number for it in china.
