Reviews: Alicante: Craft Beer Tasting at Santa Barbara Castle

Marco was very friendly and explained the brewing process in two different languages for the size of the group. The experience was unique due to the setting and would highly recommend. A couple of improvements that could help the process would be better signage to the tasting area from the lift as we wandered completely in the wrong direction and secondly is the timing as one hour felt rushed but Marco was a fantastic host.

Reviews: Alicante: Santa Bárbara Castle Wine Tasting & Tapas

Fantastic view, beautiful castle/ford. I advise wearing good shoes. I don't recommend flip-flops. We had a great time and enjoyed some nice wines. The shuttle bus down is ideal, cheap, and you are down in a few minutes, getting dropped off at Alicante Centre.

An excellent tour to familiarise yourself with Alicante, especially the old town and the Santa Cruz village. While sunny weather isn’t guaranteed in January, the rain on the morning of our tour was uncharacteristic of Alicante. Our guide Fran ploughed on and brought our small group through the Central Market and the memorial to the local victims of the Civil War up to Santa Bàrbara Castle, the impressive fortress about the old town. We then wended our way down, through the picturesque, quaint and colourful Santa Cruz district to a lovely tapas bar near the Cathedral.

What a fabulous trip we had on this tour! Grigor went above and beyond to give us an unforgettable guided trip. We stopped off in some unexpected, lesser known beautiful locations in the hills of Alicante with breath taking views of the whole of Alicante. Then onto Casa Sicilila, a beautiful vineyard, winery and restaurant for an informative tour and wine tasting with delicious accompaniments. All in all, unbelievable value and a very memorable morning! Highly recommend!

This could not have been a better experience. Our guide, Silvina, was excellent. She shared so much information about the city of Alicante as we strolled from restaurant to restaurant, we learned a lot. The food choices she made were absolutely fantastic. We tried tapas we never would have on our own, and are so glad we did. Everything was delicious, and the restaurants she chose were special, not run of the mill. There was more than enough food and drink and we finished the tour with a new found love for Alicante. I highly recommend this tour!
