He provided detailed explanations of each attraction and was very clear about itinerary times, meeting points, and other important information. Inuyama Castle is worth the 1000 yen entrance fee. It's Japan's only privately owned castle with over 500 years of history, featuring stone foundations and wooden structures standing on the riverbank. Ena Gorge was just so-so; perhaps we were just passing through. Magome-juku and Tsumago-juku were actually the 43rd and 44th of over 60 post stations along the 560-kilometer route between Kyoto and Edo (Tokyo) in ancient Japan. However, the management of Japanese post stations differed from that of ancient China. Japanese post stations were privately managed, with officials responsible for receiving visitors. Magome-juku's current architecture is a reconstruction due to a fire, while Tsumago-juku largely retains its Edo-era style. The two locations are 7 kilometers apart. Highly recommended.
