Never having tried anything like this before, I was a bit apprehensive but I really needn't have worried. Ludger explained everything in detail before we got into the kayaks and really put me at my ease. It was great fun and the views of Heidelberg from the river were fabulous. Ludger stopped several times to point out places of interest and included lots of anecdotes relating to the history of the town (in German and English). It was all very enjoyable and I would definitely do it again, although next time I would wear gloves as the oars rubbed the skin between my thumb and forefinger a little, but maybe that's just me!

Unfortunately, the offer wasn't available digitally, so I pre-booked a guided tour and paid in full. It was a bit annoying that I had to pick up my physical ticket along with the digital one. Due to illness, I was only able to use the ticket once.

A Wonderful Rhine Valley Experience with Stunning Views! I had a wonderful experience exploring the beautiful Rhine Valley. Unfortunately, we were unable to enjoy the steamboat cruise due to the low water level in the Rhine River, which was a little disappointing. However, the trip was still very enjoyable. The food was delicious, and the local wine was excellent, making the experience even more memorable. One of the highlights of the tour was visiting Marksburg Castle. The castle itself was truly impressive, and the spectacular panoramic views of the Rhine Valley from the castle were absolutely breathtaking. Our tour guide was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, providing interesting information throughout the journey. Overall, despite missing the boat cruise, it was a fantastic and memorable experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys beautiful scenery, history, good food, and local wine!

What a lovely trip. You could access soft drinks and quality wine and beer. You could also order a snack. I was with my Mum who is in her 80’s so we didn’t get off at any of the stops and immersed ourselves in the beautiful sights whilst sipping some lovely wine.
