Reviews: Chester: River Dee Kayaking Tour with Guide

We had an absolutely fantastic kayaking experience in Chester, brilliantly guided by Joe! I went along with my two boys (11 and 13 years old), and while we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, my youngest hopped off the kayak declaring, "That was the best experience of my life!" You never quite know what's going to resonate with kids, so we try to expose them to lots of new activities, but this adventure really energised him. Now we're even considering getting our own kit and exploring more areas independently. Joe didn't just provide us with an introduction,he gave us the confidence and inspiration to take things further. For me, it was the perfect combination: stunning natural beauty on one side, and Chester’s incredible architecture on the other. What a beautiful city to explore from the water! Joe was exceptionally knowledgeable, generously sharing snippets of local history and insider insights, well beyond anything we'd expected. We left delighted & energised! Unforgettable day out!

Whats great way to spend the day. Walked all round Chester taking in all the usual sites, with some unusual ones along the way all whilst figuring out the clues and searching for hidden landmarks. Great fun 😁

Went on a guided tour today with Dan as our tour guide. Very interesting, informative tour, Dan was very good. Lasted 1 hour 40 minutes and I’m glad we did the guided tour rather than the self tour as you get so much more information than you would get from reading info boards. We were able to look around ourselves afterwards also and I’m glad we did as there was more to see and read. Quite expensive really at £25 each but I enjoyed it and am glad we did it. I thought a £5 charge to park on the prison grounds was quite frankly a rip off when you’ve already paid £50 entry fee and the car park is barely fit for purpose you have to dodge the potholes. It is good to see that something has been made out of the building rather than it just sitting there empty, a good attraction if you like true crime
