Reviews: Reykjavik: Whale Watching Tour, Whales of Iceland Exhibition

The tour was a unique experience. We managed to see almost three whales. I highly recommend it. We went in September, which is a great time to see them. Afterward, we went to the whale museum, where they offer a 50% discount.

Reviews: Reykjavik: Whales of Iceland Museum Entrance Ticket

A fascinating museum and definitely worth visiting if you have an interest in whales and marine life. The life-size exhibits of the different whale species are incredible and really give you a sense of their enormous scale in a way that photographs simply can’t. There’s lots of interesting information about each species without it becoming overwhelming. I particularly loved the David Attenborough presentation and the video about Rick’s research into whales. It gives such an interesting insight into their behaviour and just how emotionally intelligent these extraordinary animals are. You don’t need to allow a huge amount of time — around an hour is plenty to enjoy everything — and there’s also a lovely café where you can sit and have a coffee afterwards. Informative, immersive and genuinely moving. A lovely addition to a visit to Reykjavík, particularly if you’re also going whale watching. If you book whale tour with special tours you get 15% discount off the museum
