We've been to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, and the signal is perfect. It even works across the border into Laos (we then activated the Laos e-SIM). It's easy to activate on an iPhone, but on Android, you may need to restart your phone.

I used this in KL, Bangkok and Shanghai. Overall the signal was ok. Sometimes we do get a drop out but it’s not often. We managed to use all social media platforms with this eSIM at Shanghai. Only thing is if you want to hail a ride you’ll need a number for it in china.
