Reviews: Chiang Mai: The Giant Café & Mae Kampong Village Day Trip

This is a brilliant trip for a family. Adam, our guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable during the trip. We were travelling with an elderly relative and he was very considerate of his needs. Aside from passing on his knowledge of the places listed in itinerary, he was also able to share local recommendations, based on our interests, which made our Chang Mai trip more memorable (he even taught us some Thai!). The itinerary was flexible, and there was plenty of time to enjoy the experience as a family. His recommendation for khao soi was particularly appreciated. Overall, I would highly recommend this relaxing trip for the start of your Chang Mai adventure!

Was your guide Mew? I apologize for not hearing your name clearly at the beginning. Thanks to the kind and English-speaking female guide, I was able to spend a perfect day in Chiang Rai. She paid great attention to solo travelers and provided excellent guidance in fluent English. Thanks to her, I had a fulfilling day and was able to fall even more in love with the charm of the wonderful temples. Thank you.

The tour only includes transportation; everything else is self-service due to the distance. You'll need to plan your own activities and activities once you arrive. There's no guide; you're on your own. To take photos with the elephants, you'll need to buy small bananas (100 taels each) to feed them. Meals are also served to the elephants and are at your own expense.

Process: After booking, you will receive a confirmation email. You can add the staff's WeChat for timely communication. Vehicle license plate number confirmation is required; group bookings are generally fine. Note: Cooking and travel companion bookings must be made through the same link on the same platform; otherwise, different links from different travel companies will not be compatible. Experience: In the afternoon session, we also visited a farmers' market to learn. The instructors were humorous and the driver was very patient and willing to wait. The instructors spoke Chinese, which I could understand. The first activity was visiting a vegetable garden, and the last activity was taking photos with hens. Everyone had time to take pictures, and the instructors didn't rush us. During the cooking session, the instructors patiently explained which vegetables to cut, whether to use a large or small spoon for seasoning, and the appropriate heat settings. They were very attentive. Each dish was cooked and eaten separately before moving on to the next. There was also free Thai milk tea and lemon tea, and free bottled water in the refrigerator—very cost-effective.
