Based on Trip.com's recommendation, I chose the Japanese DOCOMO native 5G eSIM. I easily installed it with one click in Taiwan before departure – so convenient! The installation process was quick and simple. While it showed "On" continuously before arriving in Japan, this is normal and nothing to worry about.
After arriving in Japan, I turned off my Taiwanese number and switched to this eSIM. I was immediately able to connect to the local Japanese network. The signal was very stable, and the 5G speed was satisfactory.★
