Save! Need to redeem at the counter. Later you can go to the information counter in Sapporo or you can redeem at the machine in New Chitose. Easy to use and highly recommended!

The booking process was convenient; after booking online, you simply had a staff member scan your QR code to collect your pass upon arrival. However, please note that JR Hokkaido only issues passes and assigns seats at designated tourist counters in specific stations. Regular green windows do not handle this, so we encountered a problem. Remember to allow ample time for this service. The staff at the tourist counters are very helpful, explaining everything you need to know about traveling on the JR line and even giving you a free, adorable penguin card holder for easy storage and organization of your tickets.
