It's very practical, but it's a bit of a loss if the railway is operating in winter. Hokkaido has beautiful scenery, but train tickets are too expensive. Using this is more cost-effective if you're visiting multiple places. However, if there's a blizzard and the railway stops, there are no refunds.

The day tour was fantastic - great variety of experiences and the guide was very helpful . The day of my tour I was feeling unwell and could not participate - the company kindly offered for me to go on another day at no extra charge which was lovely of them .


