Reviews: Osaka Ochi Beya Sumo Show + Sumo Experience & Kimono Experience + Optional Chanko Nabe and Other Japanese Cuisine
Guest User2025-10-07
After the beginning trepidation, it was really so much fun. It’s a bit far out, close to the airport, but easy to get to. I booked the afternoon show. They say turn up early, but don’t turn up before 5pm because they don’t let you in. You already have been allocated a table so it doesn’t matter too much what time you arrive. The annoying thing was they kept playing an intro video on repeat; and the same songs from Bruno Mars on repeat. However, once the show started it was actually great, you could meet 3 sumo guys, they were so friendly, the rules were explained in Japanese and English; and you can try it as well. It was a lot of fun. They could do with a better welcome at the beginning, a better menu and better in-between music, but overall for the experience it was fantastic.

Tiger was our guide and he was wonderful. Would I do this tour again? My answer would be absolutely yes. We weren't able to get to go to the all the stations. We visited 2 train stations and was able to see the honorable stationmasters.
