Reviews: [Guaranteed Departure] Fukuoka: Yufuin + Beppu Kamado Jigoku + Dazaifu Tenmangu One Day Tour [Japan Kyushu • Kannawa • English Guide]

Yoon-chan, you made the journey so much fun by explaining everything and sharing the origins, history, and great tips for each place! The itinerary was so packed with activities that it was perfect for enjoying Yufuin. Even Mt. Yufu, which looks difficult to reach without a guide, was amazing!!! I definitely want to recommend this to any friends planning to visit Fukuoka next time!

Our guide, Qiu Lei, provided detailed explanations, recommended local delicacies, and led us through the charming and auspicious Nyoi-ji Temple (Frog Shrine) in Fukuoka 🐸, the Beppu Sea Hell Hot Spring and the Kamado Hell Hot Spring (above 100 degrees Celsius) in Oita Prefecture ♨, where we experienced a foot bath, visited the shimmering Kinrin Lake, and the Yufuin Garden filled with koi carp and souvenir shops. It was a truly memorable and worthwhile trip.

I booked this tour the day before because I thought walking around in Fukuoka would be too difficult given the extremely hot weather. First of all, I loved the course that allowed us to visit all the famous small towns. Since it covers everything from Hita to the Attack on Titan tourist sites, I think it might be the most fulfilling tour I've seen in Fukuoka. It was also great that the two guides could communicate in Korean, English, and Chinese, so there were no communication difficulties at all. Guide Bae Tae-kwon led us in the heat, provided excellent guidance, and took beautiful photos for us, which made the trip even more enjoyable. And for all you Attack on Titan fans!! Although it isn't listed in the itinerary, we also visit the dam in Hita!! It is really difficult to get there without a car, but since the tour takes you all the way to the dam, I highly recommend it!!!

Our day tour to Dazaifu, Yufuin, Kamado Jigoku, and Umi Jigoku was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. The itinerary was well-paced, giving us enough time to explore, take photos, shop, and truly enjoy each stop. A special thanks to our tour guide, Vivian, for making the experience even more memorable. She shared interesting stories and historical facts about every place we visited, which made us appreciate each destination on a deeper level. Her instructions were always clear, and she managed the schedule efficiently, ensuring we had enough free time while keeping the tour running smoothly. Vivian also went the extra mile by recommending local specialties and must-try food, helping us make the most of our visit. Her friendliness, professionalism, and genuine care for everyone in the group made the entire trip enjoyable and stress-free. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Fukuoka and Beppu. If you get Vivian as your guide, you’re in excellent hands!

Lina was an absolutely wonderful guide during our time in Fukuoka. She is incredibly warm, approachable, and always eager to help travellers make the most of their visit. Whether it was recommending hidden food spots, suggesting places worth exploring, or sharing practical tips about getting around, Lina went out of her way to ensure everyone had a memorable experience. Her enthusiasm for the city is infectious, and it really adds to the joy of discovering Fukuoka. One thing to note though, Lina has a charming habit of understating distances! When she says something is “about 5 minutes away,” you might want to prepare for a 10-minute walk instead. As for the optional scenic train ride that was suggested, it turned out to be not quite as scenic as we had imagined, and the ride itself was rather bumpy.
