Reviews: Hanmer Springs: Thermal Pools Single or Return Entry Ticket

I took a bus from Christchurch at 8:45 AM. I booked the bus online. The facility was right there when I got off the bus, and since I was returning at 4:30 PM, I had just under four hours to enjoy myself. There was a cafe inside. You can drink water from the dispenser provided. I had lunch at a nearby cafe after arriving before going in. Optional electronic lockers can be rented for two or four hours. You can open and close them as many times as you like, so if you have luggage, it's safer to rent one. It cost 8 NZ$ for four hours. The thermal pool was relaxing and felt great. There were about three different temperatures. There was also an adults-only section. It was cloudy with occasional rain, but that actually made it easier to soak for a long time. There seemed to be many locals, but everyone was well-mannered. There is a pool with a children's play area, but the areas are separated, so if you find a less crowded area, you can enjoy a quiet soak in the thermal pool while listening to the birds chirping. It was a little chilly for the season, so bring a bath towel or something to wear over your clothes. My shawl came in handy. Shower sandals are also a good idea. I would like to go again.
