Ubehebe Crater in the western United States is located in the northern part of Death Valley National Park. The crater is one kilometer wide and more than 200 meters deep. The age of the crater is estimated to be 800 to 7,000 years. The exposed bedrock in the rock walls of the crater was formed in the Miocene, mostly reddish-orange conglomerate. These sediments were deposited by streams and contain limestone, mudstone, quartzite and volcanic pebbles, with stones up to 20 cm in diameter.
