We were the last to enter the Overhanging Great Wall, practically having the whole place to ourselves. There was a slight sandstorm in Jiayuguan that day, but the Great Wall's location perfectly avoided it, making the whole experience very comfortable. Even an 80-year-old managed to slowly climb to the second watchtower – a truly satisfying experience!
The next morning, it was raining at the First Beacon Tower of the Great Wall, so we didn't explore it in detail, but it was still a good experience with fewer people. The fortress was too crowded, so we rushed through. Of the three attractions, the Great Wall was actually the most satisfying. So, scenery isn't the only factor; it's closely related to the weather, your mood, and how crowded it is. Overall, it was a good trip. We headed straight to the airport at 1 pm, a very satisfying conclusion to our Northwest China journey.
