Vanalinn is a remarkably well-preserved medieval city on the Baltic Sea and was once an important trading port of the Hanseatic League. In the Lower Town, centered around Raekoja plats, the Gothic Old Town Hall stands on one side of the square. St. Olaf's Church, with its spire over 100 m high, the Three Sisters houses with their three connected gables, and the Town Hall Pharmacy, which has records of operation dating back to the early 15th century, are all scattered throughout this area; a few minutes south of the square is St. Nicholas' Church & Museum, which is now a museum of religious art; the late medieval masterpiece "Danse Macabre" housed inside is particularly worth a stop. The higher Toompea Castle area, also known as the Upper Town, features the onion-domed Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the Cathedral of Saint Mary the Virgin standing side by side, which, together with the ancient castle, outline the skyline. The medieval-style doors, windows, and hanging signs along the streets are details that many people easily miss. The preserved ancient city walls stretch for nearly 2 km, connecting one circular tower after another, offering a different perspective from the top of the wall. Walk to the Kohtuotsa and Patkuli viewing platforms on the edge of Toompea, where red-tiled roofs layer upon layer spread out toward the Baltic Sea.Tallinn · 53.9 km from Kuusalu Parish

Temppeliaukio Church

Temppeliaukio Church, also known as Temppeliaukio Church, is located in the Temppeliaukio Square in the center of Helsinki. Designed by the architect brothers Suomalainen, it is one of the few churches in the world built into solid rock and a must-see attraction in Helsinki. Historical background Temppeliaukio Church was designed by the Suomalainen brothers and completed in 1969. As early as the 1930s, a church design competition was held here but was interrupted by the outbreak of World War II. After the war, the brothers' proposal won the public competition, ultimately turning the blueprint into this rock-embedded building. The beauty of architecture When you stand outside the church, what catches your eye is a massive rock, with no visible spire or bell tower typical of most churches. You might not even notice the church's presence, as only a light blue copper dome over 20 m in diameter is exposed atop the rock. This is because the church was built inside a giant rock—the rock was hollowed out, and a glass ceiling was constructed above to allow natural light, while the church's outer walls are the rock itself. The church entrance is designed as a tunnel, with its inner walls still made of the original rock. The entire church resembles a landed UFO, creating a very peculiar sight. The roof features a dome design supported by a hundred radial beams, with transparent glass inlays that allow natural light to illuminate the space, making it hard to tell you're inside a rock. The church can accommodate hundreds of people. It holds services on Sundays and is also a popular venue for local weddings, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. Additionally, thanks to the echo effect of the rock walls, the church boasts excellent acoustics, making it a frequent choice for concerts.Helsinki · 87.5 km from Kuusalu Parish

Suomenlinna, located on the inner side of the Helsinki Bay, was a former military fortress and was included in the World Heritage List by the local authorities UNESCO in 1991. In the early 18th century, Finland was still under the rule of the Swedes. The Swedes decided to build forts on six islands off the coast of Helsinki. Construction of Suomenlinna began in 1748 under the command of Swedish commander Alan Swader, initially named Sveaborg. In 1808, the Russian army surrounded it and took over the island directly. Until 1918, it was renamed Suomenlinna, and until now, it is the place where Finnish troops are stationed.Helsinki · 83.1 km from Kuusalu Parish

The Helsinki Cathedral, located in front of the Parliament Square, is the most famous building in Helsinki. The green vault is very eye-catching. No matter which corner of the city, you can see this extraordinary white and green roof building, so it is also known as the Helsinki Cathedral. "Whitechapel". Historical background The church was designed by the German architect CLEngel. The location is more than 80 meters above the sea level. You can see it at a glance from the sea. The cathedral is a famous building in Helsinki and has a special place in the hearts of Finns. Therefore, Finnish couples want to hold their wedding here, and even need to make an appointment a year and a half in advance. Architectural beauty The magnificent building has many exquisite murals and sculptures. In winter, heavy snow covered the square in front of the church, the warm lights came on, and the whole church was holy. Whenever the church bell rings, the whole square is silent, and many tourists quietly feel this precious moment of peace of mind that only religion can bring. The graduation ceremony of the seminary of the University of Helsinki, one of the better universities in Northern Europe, is also chosen here every year. Organ recitals and concerts are held here every Sunday evening.Helsinki · 86.5 km from Kuusalu Parish

Vanalinn, Tallinn’s Old Town, is a beautifully preserved medieval quarter that feels like stepping into a storybook. Cobblestone streets wind past colorful merchant houses, Gothic churches, and hidden courtyards, all encircled by impressive stone walls and towers. Town Hall Square is the lively heart, perfect for soaking in the atmosphere from a cozy café. Climbing Toompea Hill offers panoramic views over red-tiled rooftops and the Baltic Sea. By day, it’s a treasure of history and architecture; by night, lantern-lit streets create a magical charm. Vanalinn is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic medieval ambiance with a vibrant modern twist.

İşte Reels’e uygun, biraz daha uzun ve akıcı bir İngilizce açıklama:⛪ Rock Church (Temppeliaukio Church)One of Helsinki’s most remarkable landmarks, the Rock Church is carved directly into solid granite, blending nature and modern architecture in a truly unique way. The copper dome fills the interior with beautiful natural light, while the exceptional acoustics make it a popular venue for concerts. Peaceful, timeless, and unlike any other church, it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression on every visitor. 🇫🇮✨

Suomenlinna is built on an island off the coast of Helsinki, a short 10-minute boat ride from Market Square. The island retains its walls, fortifications, and docks; the old buildings are painted a pale yellow, and the green-domed church stands out. In summer, the grass is lush and green, and locals bring blankets for picnics. You can stroll along the walking trails, enjoying views of the sea and the skyline of the city across the water. There's a submarine you can go inside; it's cramped but quite interesting. There are no cars on the island, so a leisurely half-day walk is perfect.

View: Helsinki Cathedral is famous for its white granite exterior and light green dome. Its golden spire and pure white walls can be seen from a distance from the sea. It is an outstanding example of neoclassical style architecture. The church's majestic spire is 62 meters high and is a prominent feature in the city's skyline, providing a different and beautiful view both during the day and at night. Value for money: Helsinki Cathedral is free to the public, making it a very cost-effective tourist attraction. Visitors can enter freely and admire its exquisite murals, sculptures and huge golden pipe organ without paying any fees. Richness of scenery: The interior of the church is spacious and bright, and natural light shines into the interior of the church through the huge windows, creating a solemn and sacred atmosphere. In addition, Senate Square in front of the church is also the best place to appreciate neoclassical architecture and Finnish cultural activities. Education level: Helsinki Cathedral is not only a religious place, but also an important cultural heritage in Finland. It was built in the early 19th century to demonstrate Finland's cultural and religious independence to the Russian rulers of the time. The church is therefore not only a place of religious ceremony but also a symbol of Finnish national pride. Interesting: Because of its unique architectural style and rich cultural background, Helsinki Cathedral has become an important place for tourists to explore the history and culture of Helsinki. The artistic works and regular concerts and cultural activities held in the church provide visitors with a rich cultural experience and interest. In general, Helsinki Cathedral is a beautiful, culturally rich and interesting tourist destination, and it is free and open to the public and has a high cost performance.
