Patriot Park

Patriot Park is located in Kubinka, on the outskirts of Moscow. This military-themed park officially opened in 2016. It covers thousands of hectares and focuses on Russian military equipment and the victory in the Great Patriotic War. The media often jokingly refers to it as a "military Disneyland." The park is divided into several themed exhibition areas, featuring a collection of armored vehicles, military aircraft, and helicopters. It offers both static displays and many interactive exhibits that visitors can experience firsthand. The park's highlights are concentrated in a few areas: most of the collection from the Kubinka Tank Museum has been moved into the park's exhibition halls, with exhibits organized by key milestones of the Great Patriotic War, such as the Battle of Moscow, the Battle of Stalingrad, and the Battle of Kursk, where you can see the Soviet T-34, the German Tiger tank, and armored vehicles from many other countries; the Air Force Museum from the Kubinka Air Base is also within the park, with various types of aircraft displayed on the outdoor grounds; the Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces, completed in 2020, is a new landmark of the park, featuring striking military-green metal walls and golden domes, with dimensions such as the dome diameter and tower height corresponding to commemorative numbers related to the victory, and the cathedral also houses an exhibition on war history; and the "Partisan Village," a reconstruction of a WWII partisan camp, features bunkers, observation posts, and kitchens that provide an immersive experience. Visitors who enjoy hands-on experiences can try shooting at the large shooting range or participate in armored vehicle rides. Every summer, the park also hosts large-scale events such as the Army International Military-Technical Forum. The park is very large, and the exhibition areas are far apart. Since the locations of exhibits and visiting areas are frequently adjusted, it is recommended to plan your route in advance and allow plenty of time for your visit.Odintsovsky District · 6.3 km from downtown

Kubinka Tank Museum

Kubinka Tank Museum is located in Kubinka, Moscow Oblast, and is a renowned collection of armored vehicles among military enthusiasts. It houses hundreds of tanks and armored vehicles from over a dozen countries, spanning from armored cars at the end of World War I to contemporary main battle tanks. Its origins are quite unusual—the collection stems from testing accumulated at the Kubinka armored proving ground in the 1930s, where new tanks from various Soviet design bureaus had to undergo testing, and captured German Tiger tanks from World War II were also brought here for ballistic testing. Today, the museum is part of Patriot Park. The museum is divided into six exhibition halls by theme and country: Soviet heavy tanks and self-propelled artillery, the Ural armored lineage from the T-34 to the T-90A, light and amphibious combat vehicles, infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers, as well as the foreign equipment hall and the German "steel monster" hall. The museum's treasures are all significant: the world's only surviving German Maus super-heavy tank weighs 188 tons; the 600 mm Karl-Gerät self-propelled mortar participated in the 1941 assault on the Brest Fortress; the disc-shaped, four-track Object 279, designed to withstand nuclear shockwaves, the five-turret T-35 heavy tank, and the oddly shaped German Kugelpanzer are also extremely rare. In the foreign equipment hall, many tanks such as the Patton series and the British Chieftain are actual items captured and brought back from battlefields in the Middle East, Vietnam, and elsewhere during the Cold War. The museum grounds cover over ten hectares. Following a guided tour allows you to hear the research and development and battlefield stories behind the exhibits. In some exhibition halls, you can even climb onto the BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle and view the interior from a crew member's perspective. The restoration laboratory is like an "armored hospital," where many old tanks are repaired until they can run again. If you catch a dynamic demonstration, you can see them roaring across the field with your own eyes.Kubinka · 901m from downtown

Kubinka Tank Museum: I saw tanks that I had seen on TV and tanks that I had never imagined. It really refreshed my understanding of the craftsmanship and imagination of the Germans during World War II. Patriot Park: The whole park is full of tanks and fighter planes. It is worthy of being a fighting nation and is called "War Disneyland". It is exciting to watch.
