Hancheng Scenic Area is only a 10-minute walk from Peixian Bus Station, including Han Street, Han Gaozu Temple, Gefeng Terrace (Pei County Museum), and Seoul Park. It is not so much a place to appreciate Han culture, but a good place for walking and leisure. Han Street is a commercial street, occupied by various shops, restaurants, and KTVs, all built to look like buildings in the Han Dynasty. The whole lively area of Pei County is here. The original temple of Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty in the south of Han Street is very small, with only one main hall, "Lepei Hall". The original temple inscription of Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty. Diagonally opposite the original temple of Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty is Gefengtai, and inside Gefengtai is the Peixian Museum, which displays a few exhibits such as early Western Han Dynasty portrait stones and Western Han painted pottery figurines. The highlight of Gefengtai is that it is the highest point of the Seoul scenic spot. When you climb up to the top and look down at the imitation of Han buildings, you can vaguely imagine the spirit of "the wind is blowing and the clouds are flying". The southern end of Han Street ends at Tangmu Road, and the south side of Tangmu Road is Seoul Park. The Han Palace District is the core scenic spot of the park. The Han Soul Palace is the main building of the Han Palace District. The first floor is inlaid with bluestone reliefs and engraved with Han portrait stone patterns; "Liu Bang's Chariots and Horses Traveling". In addition, there is a wide lake in the park. When the sun sets in the west, you can take a walk around the lake and the scenery is good.Pei County · 1.1 km from downtown

Gefengtai was built to commemorate the "Song of the Great Wind" written by Liu Bang, the emperor of the Han Dynasty, who returned to his homeland. It is located in the Hancheng Park in the center of Peixian County, Xuzhou City. It is one of the "Eight Ancient Scenic Spots in Pei County" and one of the important tourist attractions today. In 1982, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government. In 196 B.C., Liu Bang, the great ancestor of the Han Dynasty, quelled the rebellious King Yingbu of Huainan, returned to his hometown, set up the Jiupei Palace, invited the elders of his hometown to have a feast, talked about the old wine, and felt that the wine was on the rise. The hero hit the building and sang: "The wind is blowing, the clouds are flying, the Weijia sea is returning to the hometown, and the warriors are guarding the Quartet!". For details, please refer to this entry and "Peixian Chronicle" and related materials. "Song of the Wind" Liu Bang "singed and cried for a few lines". One hundred and twenty teenagers sang it together, and the crowd was excited. This is the famous "Song of the Wind" in the history of literature. This song has only three lines, but the words are golden and stone, and it has a strong voice. It has a hard-working and ambitious ambition, a tragic and unrestrained heart, and the heart of making achievements and careers. It can be described as strong and heartfelt! There are three pieces of Dafeng Song Monument. A Han stele is one zhang and one chi high and four feet and four inches wide. The font is round and strong, and the structure is well-proportioned and beautiful. According to the records of "Peixian Chronicle" and "Xuzhou Prefecture Chronicle", it was written by Cai Yong or Cao Xi in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The textual research of Mr. Feng Yiwu, the present person, was written by Ai Li, a humanist from Pei in the Western Han Dynasty. There are different opinions, but they are all considered to be the treasures of calligraphy in our country. Most of the Han Bei Gong exists, about three-quarters of the original stele. The Yuan stele was copied and engraved during the Dade period of the Yuan Dynasty. The handwriting is clear and similar to the real thing. The Yuan stele has explanatory text in the shadow. The data is precious and can be used by researchers. The third piece, also known as the Jiazi Stele, was engraved by the Peixian People's Government in 1984 (Jiazi Year) at the request of the calligraphy characters according to the scale of the original stele. In February 1982, the People's Government of Jiangsu Province announced Gefengtai and Dafengge Monument as provincial key cultural relics. Gefengtai was originally located in the southeast of the ancient county. Today's Gefengtai, with a construction area of 12,600 square meters and a total building height of 26.8 meters, is the commanding height of the Seoul building complex. Fengtai and Dafengge Monument were announced as provincial key cultural relics. Songfengtai was originally located in the southeast of the ancient county. Today's Gefengtai, with a construction area of 12,600 square meters and a total building height of 26.8 meters, is the commanding height of the Seoul building complex. Guishan Scenic Area is centered on Han Dynasty history and culture, featuring multiple attractions including the Guishan Han Tomb, the Xuzhou Imperial Decree Museum, and Dianshi Garden. It blends Han culture, imperial examination culture, and stone carving culture. The Guishan Han Tomb is the joint tomb of Liu Zhu, the sixth-generation Prince Xiang of Chu in the Western Han Dynasty, and his wife. Constructed as a mausoleum within the mountain, it was carved directly into the rock, excavating almost the entire mountain. The Xuzhou Imperial Decree Museum features three main thematic exhibitions: "By the Grace of Heaven," "Success in the Imperial Examinations," and "Comprehensive Collection," making it a unique museum dedicated to imperial decrees. Dianshi Garden covers stone carvings, wood carvings, brick carvings, and stone tablets, showcasing the development of Chinese stone carving culture. Each of the three attractions has its own focus. When visiting, it is recommended to first see the Guishan Han Tomb to experience the awe of ancient engineering, then explore the Xuzhou Imperial Decree Museum and Dianshi Garden to savor the cultural relics from different historical periods.Xuzhou · 49.5 km from Pei County

Crowned as "The King of the Five Sacred Mountains", Mount Tai has been one of China's most famous mountain peaks since ancient times. A large and impressive rock mass covering 25,000 ha and rising to 1,545 m above the surrounding plateau, Mount Taishan is considered one of the most beautiful scenic spots in China and was an important cradle of oriental East Asian culture since the earliest times. The mountain was an important object of the cult worship of mountains even before 219 BCE, when the Qin Emperor paid tribute to the mountain to inform the gods of his success in unifying all of China. Watching the sunrise and catching the spectacular sea of clouds are common activities that visitors engage in. You are also encouraged to explore the ancient sites, engravings, and religious temples to understand the role of Mount Tai in China's long history.China · Tai'an

Millennium City Park is located by the Longting Lake in Kaifeng, a large-scale historical and cultural theme park that faithfully recreates the Northern Song Dynasty's capital based on the famous painting "Along the River During the Qingming Festival" by artist Zhang Zeduan, following the original layout at a 1:1 scale. The park is divided into two sections by the Shuangting Bridge: the southern area recreates the bustling urban life of Bianjing, with taverns, teahouses, pawnshops, and artisan workshops lining the streets, where peddlers with shoulder poles and shouting shop assistants move about; while the northern area features imperial gardens, with lakeside halls and quadrangular courtyards standing by the water. Staff and vendors throughout the park wear Song-style attire, accompanied by ancient music and the rhythmic sounds of bells and drums, creating the illusion of "stepping into a painting and traveling back a thousand years in a single day." The architecture here offers visually striking highlights: the Rainbow Bridge spanning the Bian River replicates the famous bridge from ancient paintings, arching like a rainbow—watching grain barges pass beneath recreates the painting's ambiance. Fuyun Pavilion towers above all other structures with its crimson facade and golden-roofed eaves, offering panoramic garden views. The reconstructed Shangshan Gate mirrors Kaifeng's Northern Song dynasty city gates, standing majestic with resplendent paintings as the garden's most imposing structure. Waterside pavilions like Shuixin Xie, Double Pavilion Bridge, and Nine Dragons Bridge dot the emerald waters in picturesque harmony. The daytime highlight is the scattered live performances throughout the park: "Judge Bao inspecting the Bian River grain transport" unfolds on the water by Rainbow Bridge, "Squire Wang's daughter seeking a husband" brings the embroidered ball tossing matchmaking to the streets, and "Yue Fei unhorsing Prince Xiao Liang" stirs up dust with galloping hooves in the drill ground. Folk performances like cockfighting, stilt walking, cuju (ancient football), and pan drumming are interspersed throughout. Families with children can visit Fun Garden and Great Song Games to try archery, dart throwing, rope climbing, and hoop diving—experiencing every Song dynasty game from a thousand years ago—or dress in period costumes at Square Courtyard to take mock imperial exams. Street-side workshops showcase folk crafts like Bian embroidery, Zhuxian Town woodblock prints, official kiln porcelain, and dough figurines, where visitors can watch artisans at work. The park takes on a different face after nightfall: red lanterns light up one after another, and the streets are ablaze with lights, making it seem like a completely different place from daytime. The large-scale water show "Northern Song Dynasty: Splendid Dreams of Dongjing" is performed on Jinglong Lake. The entire show is connected by eight classic Song Dynasty poems and a scroll of "Along the River During the Qingming Festival," transporting the audience back to Dongjing of the Northern Song Dynasty a thousand years ago. The performance lasts approx. 70 minutes, and many travelers specifically reserve their itinerary for the evening to wait for this show. After the performance, you might as well climb the Shangshan Gate tower to overlook the park scenery and the night view of Kaifeng under the lights. Dining in the park is also convenient: the snack street and night market around the Dongjing food area gather Kaifeng snacks like soup dumplings and mutton pancake, perfect for eating while strolling; for a proper sit-down meal, head to Sunyang Restaurant, a recreation of the "main shop" depicted in paintings, and try traditional Henan dishes such as soup dumplings and carp with noodles.China · Kaifeng

Although I didn't have high expectations for a county-level museum, I felt wrong after I arrived. The exhibition content is detailed and the text description is concise. There are sections on the development of Pei County and the most distinctive culture of the county, such as the introduction of the Dafengge Stone Stele. It really enables outsiders to understand the overall historical context and the most distinctive culture of Pei County through an exhibition. Thank you.

📍Xuzhou·Guishan Scenic Area | Step into the Underground Palace of the Chu King Family! A trip to Xuzhou isn't complete without a visit to the Guishan Han Tomb! 😭 I originally went for the "Oriental Pyramid," but I ended up spending half a day there at the Dian Shi Garden and the Imperial Edict Museum! It was so worth it! 🎫 Remember to go as soon as it opens, otherwise, after 9 am, there will be many tour groups, which will greatly diminish your experience.

Climbing Mount Tai, we were accompanied by clouds and mist, admired cliff carvings, and watched the sunlight peek through the clouds... We took a scenic shuttle bus from Tianwaicun to Zhongtianmen, climbed the steps to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way, reached Yuhuangding, descended to Nantianmen, took a cable car back to Zhongtianmen, and chose to exit the scenic area through Hongmen, avoiding backtracking. Our visit lasted nearly 7 hours. Mount Tai truly deserves its title as the foremost of the Five Sacred Mountains.

Stepping into the painting is like stepping back a thousand years in a single day! The Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden, a Song Dynasty cultural park recreated based on the famous painting "Along the River During the Qingming Festival," offers an immersive experience. The park boasts a rich variety of performances, with "Yue Fei Spears Xiao Liang Wang" being a highly recommended highlight—the equestrian combat is spectacular. The "Great Song Dynasty: A Dream of Bianjing" live-action performance is breathtaking and beautiful. Actors in Song Dynasty costumes are everywhere on the streets, carrying loads, hawking goods, and performing acrobatics, making you feel like you've stepped into a living ancient painting. The streets, alleys, Rainbow Bridge, and Bian River are all faithfully recreated, making it perfect for introducing children to the history of Northern Song Dynasty life. The only downside is the crowds during holidays; arrive early to secure a spot at popular performances. A visit to the garden can easily take up half a day—a must-do when in Kaifeng!
