Mount Rainier National Park
Mount Rainier National Park is located in the Cascade Range and has a long history. The park's main peak, Mount Rainier, has an elevation of approx. 4,400 m and is an active, snow-capped volcano surrounded by glaciers, attracting many climbers every year who attempt to reach the summit. From the towering, ancient coniferous forests in the low-altitude valleys to the open subalpine meadows halfway up the mountain, and the waterfalls in the canyons, the landscape is distinct and layered, with wildlife such as black bears, deer, and marmots often seen roaming the area. Paradise on the south slope is the park's signature area: in summer, wildflowers bloom across the mountainside, usually reaching their peak from late July to early August, and the classic Skyline Trail starts here. In winter, it transforms into a snow-covered wonderland, having recorded over 28 m of snowfall in a single year; playing in the snow and snowshoeing are classic activities here year-round. Built in the early 20th century, Paradise Inn is known for its log beams and large cobblestone fireplace, and you can see the snow-capped mountain and meadows from the window. On the drive to Paradise, you will also pass Narada Falls, which is worth parking to see. Sunrise on the northeast side presents a different kind of expansive scenery: it is the highest point in the park accessible by road, offering a close-up view of the massive Emmons Glacier, and on clear days, you can see neighboring peaks such as Mount Baker and Glacier Peak.Pierce County · 39.5 km from downtown

Crystal Mountain Resort is a famous ski resort. It is a dormant volcano. Every winter, it is covered with snow and is very beautiful. Many ski enthusiasts come here to play skiing.

There are mountains and rivers in the mountains, which attracts a lot of people to drive here on weekends. It used to be an active volcano, but now it is a great tourist attraction with lush forests, lakes and mountains. It is very beautiful.

This place is a monster! There is parking around but it's a bit clustered. There is also a parking garage at the actual convention center. During the Arnold event, traffic around the building seemed to flow smoothly as well. There are lots of food places inside, WiFi, and lots of lounges. I will add anyone and their brother can wander the streets. There was a homeless guy asking people for money while we were there. So if you do have a carry permit! Rock on!
