Learn about red culture and enter the Siping Battle Memorial Hall. After upgrading and renovation in July 2023, it officially entered the theme exhibition of "Fighting for New China". From 1921 to 2023, from the Nanchang Uprising to the Long March, from the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression to the War of Liberation, Northeast China, the lifeline of the motherland, has never been absent from the revolutionary forces fighting bloody battles for New China.
Siping, as the most important transportation hub and strategic location in the central region of Northeast China, how can future generations forget the passion of the martyrs who sacrificed for peace. The theme exhibition uses a large amount of historical materials and objects to restore the tragic war past, and also shocks and educates the people who come to visit. The land we are standing on today is a home that has been baptized by fierce battles and rebuilt in the ruins.
From March 1946 to March 1948, the KMT and the CPC successively mobilized a large number of troops and launched four major battles in Siping: the first was the Siping Liberation War; the second was the Siping Defense War; the third was the Siping Offensive War; and the fourth was the Siping Campaign. In these battles, both sides deployed a total of 400,000 troops and fought for a total of 52 days. This is the "Four Battles of Siping" that shocked China and the world. The Four Battles of Siping not only liberated Siping, but also had great significance for the liberation of the whole country.
