Shakespeare's Birthplace

Stratford-upon-Avon, 180km west of London, is where the playwright Shakespeare was born and died. Shakespeare's Birthplace (also known as Shakespeare's House) is located on the north side of Henry Street in the town. It is a two-storey residence with a loft. It has a quaint half-timbered structure, a sloped tile roof, an exterior wall of primary earth color, and windows that protrude outside the wall. And the portico make this 16th century old house special among the surrounding buildings. It is now a popular attraction in the UK and is visited by many tourists. Walking into this old house, you will see furniture that is completely in accordance with Shakespeare's life, and the walls are decorated with exquisite paintings. Shakespeare was born here and spent his childhood and adolescence here. The former residence displays Shakespeare's handwriting, coins of the year, IOUs from friends who borrowed money from Shakespeare and other items. The cradle where he slept as a child can be seen in the bedroom where he was born. The house also houses a workshop by Shakespeare's father, John. When visiting, I often encounter actors performing in the house such as "Hamlet" and other bridges, which is very interesting. Behind the house is a beautiful small garden, and sometimes there are open-air theater performances. The actors' exaggerated language, expressions, and actions are exactly the style of Shakespeare's plays. Because you can only buy a combined ticket, you can also visit Hall's Croft, Nash's House & New Place, and Shakespeare's Grave after seeing Shakespeare's birthplace. These three places are relatively close to Shakespeare's birthplace, just walk there. Hall's House was the residence of Shakespeare's daughter Susannah and her husband, Dr. Hall, and was a mansion at the time. Nash's House is the home of Shakespeare's granddaughter and husband Nash. There is a new house next door that Shakespeare bought, and it is also the place where he wrote "The Tempest" and other later works and died. And Shakespeare's grave is also in the town. If you have enough time, you can also buy a five-house pass (ShakespeareFiveHousePass), you can visit two more attractions. One is Anne Hathaway's Cottage, the home of Shakespeare's wife, which is especially beautiful in the summer. The second is Mary Arden's Farm, the home of Shakespeare's mother, which is still in operation. These two places are 10-20 minutes' drive from Shakespeare's birthplace, and you can take a sightseeing bus to go there. In addition to visiting several former residences related to Shakespeare, you can also stroll around the town at will, the scenery is good, and there are Shakespeare elements everywhere. There are plenty of cafés, restaurants and souvenir shops in town, and it's nice to sit down for a coffee, a bite to eat or send a postcard.Stratford-upon-Avon · 239m from downtown

This is quite a meaningful place, especially if you like Shakespeare. Shakespeare was a wealthy second-generation official in his early life, but his family fell on hard times, leading him to seek a living in London, where he rose to fame.

#Royal Shakespeare's Tit for Tat# Another Shakespeare play has been unlocked. The version at the end of 2019 can be said to be hot out of the oven. What is amazing is that after four hundred years, human nature is still the same as he portrayed. Power, sexual blackmail, Metoo. The monologue of Regent Angelo instantly reminds people of Frollo, who is "a priest in love with a beauty". Isabella was able to escape unscathed, but she was lucky to meet the Duke who was willing to help, that is, a stronger power. Facts have also proved that the purpose of power is never simple, and it is easy to change the clouds with a flip of the hand. (I thought the Duke was just a melon-eating uncle! The conspiracy scene is fun to watch, but this so-called happy ending with broken glass is... It doesn't mean that every couple can be called a happy ending, but it can only be said that reality is also realistic. The scene where Isabella pleads for Marianna... Although it is saintly, it is also very realistic. Digression 1, the girl who plays the pregnant woman is also sitting in a wheelchair when she bows, so did they really invite a disabled actor? That would be great. Digression 2, the director of the 1950 version is Peter Brook, and the appearance of the heroine Barbara Jefford is much more convincing than this version.

The tourist town is well-deserved. The narrow streets are full of tourists' cars. The main road here is still called High Street. The street is not long, and it is lined with rare and interesting small shops and country hotels on both sides. The logo of Chipping Campden stands on the roadside. There is a building in the middle of High Street that is very eye-catching. It is the landmark building of this town - The Ancient Market Hall. This hall was built in 1627. At that time, it was a market selling butter, cheese and meat products. This should be the ancestor of the modern indoor farmers' market. This building is made of honey stone, with multiple attic-like sloping roofs on the top and arches on all four sides. From a distance, it looks a bit like a temple somewhere in Asia. You would never think that it is a market building.

It was a great experience! We went on a Saturday, and there was a slight queue, but we only waited about five minutes to get in. Inside, you can learn about the history of chocolate, the origins of coffee beans, the chocolate production process, and some interesting facts. Several parts were particularly fun. First, there was a movie about Cadbury's history and development. You went into one theater and watched the movie before moving on to the next. Next was a 4D movie where you experienced the world of chocolate with glasses. Finally, you rode in a toy car and used a laser gun to fight monsters. Another attractive part was the tour of the chocolate-making process, where you could even try it yourself. The free tasting included three different toppings to add to the chocolate sauce – very delicious! The shopping area at the end was also nice. Oh, and they gave out a few free chocolates at the entrance, which my child loved. It was a truly great experience! 😊😊😊
